Hello and welcome.
Poetry in the Park, the creative writing open-mic performance Pop-Up in Swindon, which welcomes all aspiring, especially first-timer, have-a-goers and established, creative wordsmiths and poets across Wiltshire and beyond, with the courage to put stuff out in the world.
What's it all about?
Our objective is to create a safe space for all creative writers, regardless of age or ability, to share their work. If it’s poetry, song lyrics, limericks, scripts, personal essays, or the odd dodgy dad joke, comedians are most welcome; come on over and share your work.
Or perhaps sit back and enjoy the gorgeous words and beautiful observations revealed through lifetimes of experience, which, at every twist and turn, can tug at the heartstrings or put a smile on your face that will make your day. Whatever your thing, you're most welcome.

Passing by, stopping for a coffee, or simply curious. Please take a moment to pause, grab a chair, and take a little ‘me time’ to soak up a few lyrical lines of love and life floating through the park.
LIGHTS-CAMERA-ACTION BE SEEN EVERYWHERE
If you're happy to read on the day, we’d be delighted to capture the moment for future radio broadcasts and social media footage.

BIG THANKS & POSITIVE VIBES
Thank you to the delightful South Swindon Parish Council team for your understanding and invaluable support of our thriving local creative arts scene. Your role is crucial and greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Abigail Garside-Scutts, Events Manager, for keeping the wheels oiled and handling all the heavy lifting to make it happen.
Thank you, Old Town Gardens – our wonderful hosts, creating a fabulous place to hang out and watch the world go by.
BIG THANKS TO YOU
Without YOUR participation, we’d be hugging the trees, talking to a bunch of squirrels only after our nuts, and the odd hungry crow checking out our lunchtime cheese sandwiches. Thank you!
