New Personal Device Guidelines Coming This Fall
To help support student learning, focus, and overall well-being, Otselic Valley Central School will implement updated Personal Device Guidelines beginning in the fall of 2025.
In alignment with new New York State education law, students will be required to power off and store smartphones, smartwatches, earbuds, tablets, and other internet-enabled personal devices in their personal lockers during the school day. These changes are designed to reduce distractions in the classroom, encourage face-to-face interaction, and promote a more focused learning environment.
The new guidelines reflect our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and productive atmosphere for all learners.
