Coming Soon! All NEW Online Records Center

The City of Pico Rivera has partnered with ECS Imaging, Inc. and Laserfiche an electronic document management database solution to enhance the City Clerk’s office records management system. Along with improving efficiency and accuracy in document storing, tracking, and retrieval, residents will now be able to access City records online via an Online Records Center.

Residents will experience:

  • Accessibility of City Records
  • Easy-to-use Interface
  • Printing and Downloading Options
  • Translation options available
  • Mobile Access

City Council Dark Meetings Coming Up!

On September 8, 2015, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 6827, cancelling certain meetings of the City Council due to Holiday Schedules and Vacation schedules. The City Council meetings regularly scheduled for November 26, 2024, and December 24, 2024, are scheduled to go DARK.

Vote Centers

Voters in Pico Rivera have the option to cast their ballot in-person or drop off their Vote by Mail Ballots at any vote center in the City or any participating vote center in surrounding cities.

What Happens When Elections Are Over?

After Election night, there will be a significant number of ballots to count. The Los Angeles County Clerk estimates that over 1 million ballots remain to be counted following the election on November 5th. County elections officials must verify every ballot to make sure every valid vote is counted correctly and only once.

  • County Elections officials have 30 days to process and verify all the ballots received.
  • Election results will be updated on www.lavote.org starting November 6th and continuing through November 29th, with updates occurring at least twice a week, in accordance with State requirements.
  • On December 3rd, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is tentatively scheduled to declare the election concluded.
  • At the December 10th, City Council meeting, the City of Pico Rivera will officially certify the results of the General Municipal Election, and the newly elected Councilmembers will be sworn into office.

Get Ready for Fang-tastic Time at the City's Halloween Composting Workshop!

After the frightfully successful composting event last time, the City is brewing up a holiday composting event! Creep on over to Rio Hondo Park on Tuesday, October 29th, from 5:30 - 7:00 PM for a bone-chilling, hands-on, Halloween-themed composting demonstration. Learn how to layer and maintain your own compost creation at home.

The first 25 participants will score a pumpkin to decorate before Halloween—and compost after! With wicked raffles, freebies, and plenty of frightful fun, it’s all treats and no tricks. Follow the City’s social media channels for all spine-tingling updates! 🎃

Power Up with PowerChoice at the Upcoming Information and Sign-Up Event

The City of Pico Rivera is hosting an event to help residents learn about accessing solar panel and battery systems through the new PowerChoice Program. Join the event on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 12:00 – 1:30 PM at the City Hall Council Chambers to discover how to get reliable renewable energy with NO UPFRONT COSTS and NO CREDIT CHECKS.

Residents are encouraged to bring a recent electricity bill so experts can provide personalized advice on program eligibility and assist with sign-ups if the program is a good match. The first 50 participants who sign up for PowerChoice will be eligible for a free Tesla EV Wall Connector, courtesy of PRIME. Supplies are limited, so RSVP today and secure a seat for a bright renewable future!

Pico Rivera Thanks its Code Officers, Happy Code Enforcement Week!

KB Homes Ventanna Community Townhome Development

The 95-unit townhome development located at the former Knight's Inn (6540 Rosemead Boulevard) is underway with the demolition of the building. KB Home named the new development “Ventanna Community”. Demolition of the old building is anticipated to be completed in less than two weeks and grading is scheduled to start in February 2025. Construction of the model homes will start in summer of 2025. It is anticipated that completion and sales of the townhomes will occur in late 2027 or early 2028.

KB Home Azul Townhome Development

Construction of the Azul Townhome Development (4820 Durfee Avenue) is underway with the first model home building shell completed. It is anticipated that 12 units will be built per quarter. Construction completion and sales of the 45 townhomes are anticipated to be completed in early 2026.

Pico Rivera Youth Center Renovation Re-Dedication - September 18, 2024

  • The Pico Rivera Youth Center Renovation Re-Dedication was held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at the Pico Rivera Youth Center. The re-dedication included a plaque unveiling and ribbon cutting ceremony.
  • The renovation process began in February 2024 and included refreshing the interior and exterior of the existing building. Renovations were funded by Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and the General Fund.
  • Approximately 100 guests attended the ceremony including local dignitaries, City staff and Teen Club members. Guests thoroughly enjoyed the festivities which included a live DJ, food, refreshments, a photo booth, and “swag” bags for the first 50 teens that attended.
  • The Youth Center is now open Monday -Thursday from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Fridays from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. The center offers a gaming area, computers, fitness equipment, a pool table, a ping pong table, and much more.

Life Story Writing Class - September 24, 2024

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the Senior Center hosted a book signing and sale of the books compiled by the Parks & Recreation department of the participating seniors and their stories. The cost per book was $5.00. The writing class was formed in 1989 at the Pico Rivera Senior Center. Participants write their life experiences and then read their stories during class.

Mariachi Concert - September 26, 2024

On Thursday September 26, 2024, more than 115 registrants enjoyed an afternoon of live mariachi music, a ballet folklorico performance and delicious food in a vibrant fiesta themed ambience.
