Welcome to this week's newsletter
Dear families,
What a wonderful week our performing arts students have had. The two performances of Matilda Jr this week have shown what a vital part of schools the performing arts are. Watching our incredible singers, actors and dancers on stage, supported by our able backstage crew, was a real delight. We would like to formally thank the staff and volunteers who supported the students and crew to put on a fantastic show. This will be a lasting memory for these students, and the school to recognise their success.
Our Year 11 students have started their exam season well and we have received positive feedback from the exam invigilators about their conduct. Please continue to support your child in engaging with the exam season, and all the opportunities that they have available to them fully. This morning, as part of our support programme, we issued students with their secret letters from students and staff as positive reminders about their successes and personal traits which will serve them well over the following months. Seeing the students read these messages was truly heartwarming and reminded a number of students of their potential, boosting their confidence before they sit their first exams. We are equally as proud of our Year 13 students who are also working hard to prepare for their exam season.

U13 boys football
Congratulations to our U13 boys football team who won the District Final 3-1 against Rushden this week, with goals scored by Jack M and Bobby L (x2). There were some excellent performances throughout the entire competition to get us there, so well done to everyone who participated.
Instrumental lessons
Applications are now open for students to begin or to continue to receive instrumental lessons next academic year. Full details plus an application form are available to download below. Please note that completed application forms must be returned no later than Friday 24 May.
Ukulele donations wanted
Our music department are seeking ukuleles to add to our stock of instruments. If you have an unwanted ukulele that you would be happy to donate to the school, please ask your child to pass it on to Miss Barron or Miss Bishop.
