Law Enforcement Professional Development Central Arizona college

Central Arizona College, in partnership with Insight Strategies, is proud to offer professional development workshops designed to broaden and enhance the skills of currently employed sworn officers in the state of Arizona. Central Arizona College is located less than 2 hours from most Arizona counties, making it a convenient and less expensive way for a working officer to attain continuing education training. Through a series of dynamic, relevant and high demand topics we hope to provide an opportunity for officers to expand professional skills and grow within the law enforcement community.

Personalized Learning - Class Sizes are small, with 27 or fewer officers enrolled, allowing you to have a one-on-one experience with the course instructor.

Centrally Located - Classes are held at the Central Arizona College, Signal Peak Campus located in Coolidge, AZ. Address: 8470 N. Overfield Rd., Coolidge, AZ 85128

Highly Qualified Instructors - Instructors are seasoned criminal justice professionals with specific backgrounds in areas such as the Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement, The Courts, Intelligence and Corrections.

Upcoming Workshops

  • Achieve Instant Rapport: Many people, including victims and witnesses, don’t automatically trust the criminal justice professional. To get to the truth and help you de-escalate tense situations, you must master instant rapport building skills. This workshop focuses on knowing yourself and your surroundings well enough that you can connect with anyone instantly. (8 hours, Basic Level, $199)
  • Write for Convictions: Writing matters! Some of your reports won’t make it to a trial, but every report will lead to a decision about your arrests, treatment of arrestees, and ultimately confessions and/or convictions. In this workshop, we focus on storytelling and the support that can be used in court rather than just fulfilling your agency’s requirement to document an incident. (8 hours, Basic Level, $199)
  • Intermediate Criminal Investigations: You know the intricacies of investigation. However, even the most experienced investigators can paint themselves into a corner. In this workshop, you should gain the ability to see crimes from different perspectives, thus avoiding confirmation bias or blindsiding the prosecutor. (8 hours, Intermediate Level, $199)
  • Testify for Convictions: You can be called to testify in various types of hearings and trials. Your testimony can make or break a case for the prosecutor. In this workshop, you will learn how to be best prepared to deliver impactful testimonies. (8 hours, Basic Level, $199)
  • Frontline Leadership: This workshop helps you become a better supervisor by having you consider the difference between good and bad supervisors; learning to building trusting relationships with your team members; focusing you on the various roles you will face; introducing you to counseling, coaching and disciplining; encouraging you to own your team’s successes and failure; and finding solutions. (8 hours, Basic Level, $199)

"The workshops are stackable"; meaning you can progressively develop skills with follow-up workshops. Your agency may group two or more workshops for a single, multi-day training event, or sequenced training over time.

Certificate of Completion: Students receive a certificate of completion upon the satisfactory completion of a workshop.
