Victoria Park Health Centre Leicester, Leicestershire

The Victoria Park Health Centre is the state-of-the-art facility for a local GP practice serving students of the nearby University of Leicester and local residents. The doctors were previously practising from a Grade II listed building which was cramped and offered no room for expansion. The current surgery building provides a welcoming and therapeutic environment for patients which is fully compliant with modern NHS standards.

The building has been sensitively designed to blend in with the adjacent parkland and features timber cladding to the external walls and a biodiversity roof sown with wildflowers and grasses. The building was completed to BREEAM Excellent standard and includes air source heat pumps and a landscaped sustainable drainage wetland area. Internally the accommodation provides a range of consulting and treatment rooms and a minor surgery suite together with meeting, office and training rooms for staff.

We are delighted with the new surgery building, it is the realisation of many years work. It will be wonderful to work from the premises that are fit for purpose, and I look forward to seeing the response from our patients
