Feeling Fantastic nURSERY, AUTUMN TERM, WEEK 5

This week in Nursery, we explored emotions through The Colour Monster story. The children enjoyed learning about different feelings and linking them to colours, helping them begin to understand and express their emotions.

The children loved their new Colour Monster toys in the reading area.

The soft toys helped the children to have conversations about feelings.

During group time, we sorted feelings associated with each color into groups and used counting skills to compare them.

Colouring the Colour Monster's hair using 'up-down' strokes supports the development of the children's early writing skills.

The children enjoyed completing independent learning tasks linked to the text.

The children take great pride in learning to 'write' their names. We've followed this interest, as they are showing growing self-belief—it's like magic dust for learning!

Beaming with pride
Focussed and determined

It’s not just The Colour Monster story we love—the children enjoy all story times and love spending time independently exploring books in the reading area.

A loved favourite, 'Everybody Poos'.

The children love recalling words as they explore the pictures.

And that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you are immersed in a story.

We are really looking forward to welcoming you into the classroom for our weekly Read, Play and Connect sessions on Tuesday mornings. Keep an eye on Class Dojo for your invite!
