This Adobe Express page is ONLY an example demonstrating the layout of the assessment response. You are free to follow any design of the layout.
It also provides you with the guidelines for developing the response. You are free to organise the content within the page as you wish.
What is important is to cover the 'tasks' listed in the assessment description.
Please remember that the basic nature of the assessment response is 'Web page' and NOT a video.
Once you log in to Adobe Creative Cloud, select 'Adobe Express', then click on '+' sign on the left-hand side menu. Next, select the 'webpage' option to develop your reflective piece.
PLEASE note that the options such as 'INSTAGRAM POST/STORY', 'FLYER', and 'REPORT' are not the correct formats for this assignment.
You may follow the instructions given in the demonstration video about 'how to create an express page' available on the assessment page on Canvas.
Please see below demonstration video. This is available in the assessment page too.
You can include photos to decorate the page.
You can include audio, videos, and web links to provide ADDITIONAL explanations if you want. For instance, assume you are reflecting on team work and you want to explain team building process or an example (see below video) that enriches your reflection. You may enrich the content by adding a video explaining team building process or any other relevant video appropriately. However, that is NOT a must.
You may also include web links - e.g., web site of a company or an article, if you believe that it helps clarifying/enriches your reflection. This should be done by using 'button' option pops up when you click on the plus sign below. See below link to IMC's website as an example here.
How to craft the written content of the reflection?
Simply follow the steps in the assessment description.
Step 1: identify four main learning experiences including the given two experiences.
Experience 1 (Given): The experience of engaging in consulting process activities (i.e., analysing a business problem, making recommendations for a live business, and designing an implementation plan)
Experience 2 (Given): The experience of working as a consulting team to achieve project goals.
Experience 3: You need to identify an experience to reflect on.
Experience 4: You need to identify an experience to reflect on.
Step 2 – Develop your reflection by building on the given thinking prompts in relation to each experience identified above.
Reflect on experience 1 by writing a paragraph or two covering the following thinking prompts:
I. What is the learning experience? This prompt expects you to describe briefly but specifically your learning experience.
II. Why do you think the learning experience mentioned in (i) above is a significant learning experience? This prompt expects you to discuss the rationale and reasons why the identified experience becomes one of the biggest experiences in the unit.
III. What are your observations and reflections about points 1 and 2? This prompt expects you to elaborate on the experiences undertaken on a personal level by describing thoughts, emotions, and feelings related to each experience. In your observations, consider and comment upon your confidence, competency, and commitment to managing business-related tasks and your resilience, leadership, and self-management skills in relation to the experiences identified for this assessment.
IV. Please reflect on the relevant theory and link it with point (iii) above. This prompt expects you to add theory supporting what has been experienced and the conceptual knowledge that could help with drawing new insights for future experiences. In this context, theory means literature supporting your claims. They are not necessarily specific theories but may include industry-related figures (i.e., IBIS World), findings in research papers, company/organisational annual reports, reliable web blogs, newspapers, and books.
V. How do the learning experiences discussed above affect your future practice as an executive/ manager/ consultant/ or entrepreneur? This last prompt expects you to think of the ways this learning contributed to your skills/abilities/knowledge development; the impact they have created on the way you are thinking and behaving as an executive/a manager/a consultant/ an entrepreneur or as a student in a business management context; and how will you apply them in the future.
Reflect on experience 2 by writing a paragraph or two covering the following thinking prompts (follow the same approach taken for experience 1).
I. What is the learning experience?
II. Why do you think the learning experience mentioned in (i) above is a significant learning experience?
III. What are your observations and reflections about points 1 and 2?
IV. Please reflect on the relevant theory and link it with point (iii) above.
V. How do the learning experiences discussed above affect your future practice as an executive/ manager/ consultant/ or entrepreneur?
Reflect on experience 3 by writing a paragraph or two covering the following thinking prompts (follow the same approach taken for experience 1).
Reflect on experience 4 by writing a paragraph or two covering the following thinking prompts (follow the same approach taken for experience 1).
Additional Guidelines
The written content can be drafted in a Microsoft world file and then copy and paste the content onto the Adobe Express Page once you decided on the layout of the Express Page.
Read the assessment description thoroughly and follow the steps mentioned in it to draft the needed content for the response.
Below is an example of how a paragraph would look on the Adobe Express Page
A weakness I consistently exhibit as a team member is a conscious form of behaviour known as discounting. Discounting involves devaluing the ideas and opinions of other group members due to a self-belief that your own thoughts are superior (Langhout, Rosselli & Feinstein 2007, p. 150). I used discounting sporadically during group discussions and only with the aim of achieving the highest level of success in the task at hand. It is widely accepted that culture is multidimensional with visible elements such as behaviour being a manifestation of the hidden and core elements of a culture (Solomon & Schell, p.47). The hidden value that underpins my behaviour of discounting is individualism. Individualism involves a preference to act independently and to put an individual’s own interests before any group's interests (Parker, pp. 194-196). The main reason I have used discounting in the past is to ensure that I get the best marks possible at university which can be classified as my individual objective. The broader objective this links to is success in life. Doing well at university has been shown statically to positively impact upon a person’s career, health and material wealth in a generalised case (Todaro & Smith 2009, p.373). I therefore used discounting behaviour in the aim of achieving my own individual objective which I justified to myself by claiming it was similarly helping the group achieve its objective.
