June Blooms at Tryon Palace

Happy National Pollinator Month! Our gardens have been LOVING the rain and milder temps and are blooming like crazy! The lilies featured above in the Stanly Garden have been especially show stopping this year! Our new annuals are growing quickly and our gardeners are staying very busy adding new things in and around our site! It’s also the PERFECT season to come see all of our perennials showing off for the start of summer.

If you’re looking for an outside hobby and way to give back to your community, consider joining us as a garden volunteer! We are looking for Master Gardeners, Horticulturists, Garden Enthusiasts, General Yard Workers, and Carpenters. Some background in gardening is great but none is necessary, just a willingness to learn. We are looking for volunteers for pruning, planting, raking, mulching, watering, weeding, fence and trellis repair. If you’re interested in volunteering with us, please contact me at gardens@tryonpalace.org.

We hope to see you soon! Happy Gardening,

Hadley Cheris, Director of Facilities and Gardens, Tryon Palace
