Do you ever look back at your family photos and cherish those cute little baby images? You know the ones where you have big chubby cheeks and bright eager eyes? And then there are the cute toddler images, preschool adorable-ness and grade school images of you with your friends. And then poof, you just disappear. What happened just before you were a teenager? Did your parents send you away to boarding school? Did they forget about you?
It’s a shame because preteen kids are fun, talented, smart and have a lot to teach us. I LOVE to invest in OUR kids and OUR future.
I started a personal project about 3 years ago that I heard about from a fellow photographer. It’s called The Who I Am Project. The goal is simple… to make pre-teens and teens look and feel beautiful and be confident in who they are. If you remember when you were 8-14 years old, you remember how emotionally hard it was to find where you fit in.
The Who I Am Project is designed for kids about middle school age. The goal is to show them how amazing and talented they are through my lens. It’s hard for our preteens and teenagers to see themselves as others do. Everyone is special and I want to prove that to them.
I don’t know about you, but if there is something I can do to create unshakable confidence in preteen and teen girls and boys before they hit high school, then I’m ALL in!
Who are we looking for? We are looking for kids between the ages of 8 and 14. We will toss around some ideas to best showcase their talent and personality.
Why “The Who I am Project”? We want to capture the personality of these preteens/teens and record the last stage of their childhood before they become teenagers. We want them to realize their true beauty, so that they are confident in themselves before they hit high school. Imagine the impact a single beautiful image can do for your preteen/teen’s self-image.
How to participate or nominate a friend: Please fill out the contact form below if you are interested in having your child participate in this project, or if you would like to nominate a friend or family member of yours that you think would be perfect for this. Please nominate people you think would enjoy the boutique experience we provide. The session itself is complimentary and includes $50 in product credit (a total of $150 value). Our goal is to create a gorgeous group of photos you’ll love and that truly show your preteen’s spirit and personality! Many people like to use these photos and birthday, mother/Father’s Day and “just because” gifts for their preteen/teen. Our portrait collections start at $375.

I have been pouring my heart into Texas Tradition Photography pretty much my entire life. As crazy as it sounds, I was in high school when I decided to pursue photography as my profession. Once I made that decision, I never looked back.
Here I am 30 years later with a B.S. in Photography (SHSU) and a business. The best part? I still love photography just as much as I did then.
Getting to know you is my favorite part of being your photographer. Pre-teens are young and fun and always up for trying new things. It's cliche' to say, "every person has their own personality" BUT IT'S TRUE! And I'm here to capture it!
My heart explodes when I see my teen clients come to life with confidence, personality and excitement. I like to be your hype girl, but really YOU are the one hyping ME up.
I think I'm supposed to tell you some of my favorite things, so here it goes. It's very simple. Chocolate, Unsweet tea, Hallmark channel, my family, my friends and God. (and this is not in any kind of order)
