Autumn Term 2023

Meet the teams!

We have been having fun this term with our team competitions! See below for who is in each team
Let's take a look at all the amazing things IPaSS have been up to this term...
In September we welcomed our biggest Y7 cohort ever! Say HELLO to Ronni, Lexi, Jay, Jory, Perla and Riley! They have made a super start to the term.
On 6th October Sirius Academy West welcomed Y6's into the academy. The theme this year was "SPACE" and IPaSS stepped up with a Guardians of the Galaxy theme - including feely boxes, pin Rocket on the spaceship and a memory game. Huge thank you to Olivia and Leona who stayed to help out for the evening!
On 16th October Y7's took part in the "Restart a Heart" day. They learnt how to respond to someone who has had a cardiac arrest and learnt how to perform CPR.
10th November - Alongside the cadets at Sirius Academy West, Riley took part in the Remembrance Day event with the Old Kingstonians. He was chosen to hold and place the wreath down in remembrance of the fallen soldiers. He showed great respect throughout, well done Riley!
21st November - Ronni attended a collapsed curriculum day at the MKM stadium hosted by Tiger's Trust. Students took part in a range of activities promoting their ability to work as a team, resilience, communication and more. She had an amazing time and displayed the respect values of the school throughout her visit. Well done Ronni!
Y11 completed their mock exams from 13th November to 1st December. They approached these with a fantastic attitude, tried their best and now know what they need to do in preparation for the real thing in May/June next year. Well done to Ahmed, Darcie and Leona!
1st December - Sirius Academy ran a castles and volcano competition this term for Y7 and 8. Lexi and Ronni made their creations at home, Riley made his at craft club on a Thursday lunchtime. I think you will agree, they have all done a fantastic job! Here is a link to all the fantastic entries https://youtu.be/awqsie-GHe4?si=FMeGqc32bfwkoQS0
1st December - Team Tiger won a free breakfast for receiving the most team points in Half Term 1! Well done team, keep up the good work!
3rd December - Olivia took part in the PE challenge, walking around Beamish with her family in the snow! She was rewarded on 18th December with a trip to Rock City with the PE department - Well done Olivia!
18th December - For taking part in the castle and volcano competition, Ronni, Lexi and Riley enjoyed a day in York looking at some historical sites and enjoying food at the Christmas market. They were very well behaved and had a great day out
19th December - All the IPaSS students and some of the staff attended a BSL interpreted performance of Pinocchio at Hull Truck Theatre as a Christmas treat from Mrs Harness, they even got to meet some of the cast and the interpreter at the end!
20th December - Jay received a Golden Ticket for getting over 200 reward stamps, he chose to take part in the silent disco in the hall with his friends
20th December - For receiving Golden Tickets for over 200 reward stamps, the Y7 and Y9 IPaSS students (who didn't want to join in the silent disco) were treated with a film afternoon with sweets, popcorn and drinks
Team Giraffe won the team competition this half term! Well done to all the students, they will receive a free breakfast in the new year
Lunch clubs have been a roaring success this term. Miss Lane has been holding a KS3/4 dance club, Miss Wilson has held KS3 games club and KS3 movie club, Miss Richal-Webb has held KS4 games club and KS4 movie club, Mrs Wilson has held KS3 craft club and Miss Leach has held KS3 homework club. We are looking forward to next term's clubs!
Unfortunately we are saying goodbye to Miss Leach who will be joining Sirius Academy in their Art department in January. She has been a valuable part of the team and whilst we will miss her down in IPaSS, we will still see her in the Academy. Good luck in your new role!
