Friends of Deiniol 2024 Challenge - The Friends of Deiniol laid down a challenge four weeks ago asking our pupils to challenge themselves and raise some much needed sponsor money for our school. Many of our children went above and beyond and we managed to raise a fantastic.....£1,016!! All money raised will be split amongst the classes as well as extra prizes going to individual children who raised the most money - that money will follow them into their new classes. A special well done must go to Ethan and Callum who raised over £400 between them washing trucks and vans whilst dressed as Super Mario Brothers! Da iawn boys!
Year 6 Fun Day - Our Year 6 pupils have been busy setting up a mini fun day for other pupils today. They are hoping to raise funds for their end of year activities next week. Along with Mrs. Arrowsmith, Mrs. Tennant and Mrs. Drake, they've put a lot effort into making this a success and it just goes to show what an amazing bunch of young people they are.
Film Afternoon - Last Friday The Den held a movie afternoon. The children enjoyed watching a film as well as costing tickets and prices for sweets. As you can see by the smile on their faces, they had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon! A big 'diolch' must go to Mrs. Butterton. Ms. Greenhalgh and Ms. Braisdell for organising the event.
Schools Essential Grant - The School Essentials Grant opened on 1 July. Children whose families are on lower incomes and qualify for certain benefits can apply for a grant of: £125 per learner £200 for learners entering year 7 (to help with increased costs associated with starting secondary school). All pupils from Reception to Year 6 are eligible to apply. Families are only entitled to claim once per child, per school year. By applying for this grant you are also helping our school as we get extra funding for every child who is accepted. So, I’d be very grateful if you could spread the word by sharing https://www.gov.wales/get-help-school-costs. Even if families don’t need the grant, registering as eligible will mean our school will still get additional funding.
Easyfundraising - When making purchases online please can you go through the 'easyfundraising' app as a small percentage of the transaction will be sent to the Friends of Deiniol. It doesn't cost you anything at all and most online retailers take part: Amazon, John Lewis, M&S, Tui etc. Just download the app, choose Friends of Deiniol School Yard and then use the app to choose an online store to buy from. It's really simple to use and easy money for the school!
Recycled Clothes - Please keep bagging up and sending in any unwanted clothes to the school. It's really easy money for the Friends of Deiniol which is then sent back into school to help our children.
