Empathize
Seven in ten people have never used second-hand clothes. Due to today's over-consumption, many people resort to buying new clothes endlessly and this results in many clothes going to waste. Moreover, because fast fashion is so popular, it encourages people to buy clothes frequently and discard them right away, which adds to the issue of clothing waste. There are many ways that the manufacturing of new fabric - clothes pollutes our planet. There is the stereotype that second-hand clothes are for poor people, but this opinion is wrong. Without any hesitation, we can say, that using second hand helps the environment. More specifically, we are focused on young people, without considering their beliefs, gender, education, or income, our project focuses on young individuals in Limassol including the ages of 18 to 30, as they are the most active people in fashion shopping.
Define
The main problem is that many people think it is wrong or demeaning to use second-hand clothes. This fact makes the industries produce more clothes. At this point, many people might not be aware of the effects that clothing waste has on the environment and society, which can result in prolonged unsustainable consumption patterns. Also, because fast fashion is so popular, it encourages people to buy clothes frequently and discard them right away, which adds to the issue of waste. Consumption encourages wearing disposable, low-quality apparel. Moreover, because discarded clothing may still be undamaged and could have been donated to people in need, clothing waste can also have social repercussions - it is not helping those in need or those who can't afford clothing. It is a squandered chance to assist needy communities by not making the most of second-hand clothes. Furthermore, managing clothes waste involves financial costs for the local government and waste management organizations, including collection and disposal. Taxpayers will pick up the bill for dealing with extra waste.
