Happy arts :) by phoebe

Sea drogo

Sea drogo was inspired by the dragon slug or blue slug and is supposed to look like a mythical one. With this piece I learned that I can use highlights and shadows around to give the piece a glowing effect. My goal while creating this was to make something cool and neat looking out of a slug that I thought was cool. I feel rather proud of this piece because it looks really cool and that it took so long to do. As for the audience I hope they find this piece just as neat as I do.

The Cranes Exhibit 171

The cranes are completely from my imagination with a few reference photos for their shape, this piece is supposed to look like a museum exhibit. From this painting I learned that with enough layers a painting will eventually look nice. My goal was to have two cranes standing in a pond which then turned into an exhibit. I rather like this piece because it's inviting and looks very comforting which I personally rather like. And I hope that the audience will feel the same or get a similar feeling.

80’s portrait

This piece was inspired by an 80’s model that I had found a picture of. I learned how to use pattern brushes and how to create patterns in Corel painter. My goal for this piece was just to make a nice looking piece without it looking too crowded or overly hectic. I feel like this is a nice picture and I also feel like I could've made it look better. For the audience I hope I conveys some form of the 80's or has them looking at it deeper.

Dino

This one was just for fun because why not. It's a dinosaur sitting down staring off into space .I named it Morange the dino because that is how I felt while creating it. My goal with this was just to doodle and create something cute .I feel like I just want to stare into its soul and squeeze it. The audience can feel however they want about this one.

Baby doll

Baby doll was a side project while I worked on a different piece. It is a picture of a girl holding her head up although it's not very well shown. I’m not a big fan of this piece because everything looks just slightly off. I hope other people find this piece nice I just personally have issues with this piece.

Caramel apple

Caramel apple is an apple covered in caramel and is one of the first art projects I did in Corel I'm rather happy with how it came out for a first project. I learned from doing this project that making sure that all the edges of the piece are nice and neat makes a whole lot of a difference to the object. For this piece I feel like I did an alright job for a working on a program that I hardly knew at the time and being able to make a decent looking apple. As for the audience I hope they feel somewhat drawn to this piece or just they find it pleasing to look at to some degree.

Monster cafe

Monster cafe is one the drawings that I despise the most only because it makes absolutely no sense and nothing works together very well. I learned that if I have an idea about a project that I should go over it a bunch of times before I try to put it into action. I will always have a feeling of dislike towards this drawing because of how many problems it caused for me while I was making the piece. For the audience I wouldn't mind if they liked the piece but it's not the best one out there or the best one I've done.
