Cañon City is nestled among the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Often referred to as “the climate capital of Colorado,” the climate is typically warmer and milder than Denver and Colorado Springs. This means that those residing in Cañon City are lucky enough to enjoy a variety of recreational activities year round. The surrounding mountain ranges give residents spectacular views from just about anywhere. There is a rich history of the town and surrounding area, from abundant dinosaur fossils right in our backyard to the stories of the Pikes Peak Gold Rush of 1858.

Cañon City is famous for having some of the best rafting in the country, and the fishing is great too! The Arkansas River was recently designated as a Gold Medal Trout Stream, meaning there are a lot of large fish waiting to be caught! The Arkansas River provides plenty of activities that make for a wonderful place to raise a family or enjoy an active retirement. There are world class hiking and biking opportunities minutes away and golfing at the many courses in our area. It’s safe to say there’s something for everyone in our town!

Cañon City provides a small town feel with all the amenities of a larger city, located only 45 minutes from Colorado Springs and two hours from Denver. If you’re looking for a great place to live, come visit Cañon City. We must warn you though, it’s hard to leave!
