2025 Black Business Expo Tallahassee The Big Bend's Premier Minority Networking Event

Registration Open for the 2025 Black Business Expo Tallahassee (BBET)

Don’t Miss Out!

Dear Entrepreneurs,

On behalf of Mega Ace Media and the Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality, we are thrilled to announce that the 2025 Black Business Expo Tallahassee (BBET) will take place on February 22, 2025, at The Moon! Registration is officially open, and we encourage you to secure your spot today!

This year, we’ve worked hard to make BBET more dynamic and impactful than ever before. With exciting new partners and agencies eager to collaborate with your business, we’re creating more opportunities than ever to help you grow. We’ll also have on-site registration with various local entities, ensuring your business is well-positioned to pursue valuable contracts. The theme for 2025 is #ThriveIn25, and we’re expecting our largest and most diverse group of participants to date.

Exciting New Features for 2025:

• Grant Giveaways with a Twist: This year, we’re bringing some fun to the process of distributing grants. Complete your "passport," and we’ll randomly draw names from a lottery-style ping pong ball machine! And the best part? All grants will be awarded on the spot, so you’ll leave the event with your check in hand.

• Construction Industry Focus: For businesses in the construction sector, we’re hosting a Builder’s Roundup on Friday, February 21, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Hotel Indigo. This special event will bring construction industry leaders together, providing a platform to market your products and services, plus guidance on how to expand your business capacity to compete for larger projects. We’ll also connect you with agencies that can help you grow and prepare for future opportunities.

Your Input Matters:

In the coming weeks, you’ll receive email communications and brief surveys from us. We encourage you to take a few moments to share your thoughts so we can tailor the event to better suit your needs. Your feedback is invaluable, and we’ll be using it to enhance this year’s expo.

Don’t Miss Out!

We’re excited for this year’s event and are working hard to make it the best one yet. We appreciate all the support we’ve received from both long-time participants and new attendees. The BBET has become one of the most impactful networking events in the area, and we’re proud to have the continued backing of the Office of Economic Vitality since day one.

REGISTER NOW to secure your table and registration. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive an email with details about your expo location.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2025 BBET and to another year of growth, connection, and success!

The 4th Annual Black Business Expo Tallahassee is slated for Feb. 22, 2025 at The Moon and is presented by Mega Ace Media and the Tallahassee-Leon Office of Economic Vitality (OEV). The event will begin with doors opening at 11:00, with the formal program beginning promptly at 12:00 Noon and will be a fitting cap to Black History Month.

The purpose of the event is to foster better business partnerships, provide business consultation, and expose Black businesses to the resources afforded to them in the Big Bend community.

We will also have our three local chambers of commerce present whose primary functions are to foster better business relationships. That includes the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce, Capital City Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.

We will have business lending institutions on hand as well. Studies show that minority businesses actually fear banking institutions, when in fact they are a key to running a successful business. It is our goal that by putting businesses in the same room with the institutions, we can overcome the stigma.

With so many agencies offering input for Black Business Expo Tallahassee, they are too numerous to name. According to Forbes Magazine between February and April of 2020, Black business ownership declined more than 40%, the largest drop across any ethnic group. A major factor is being successful is using the resources that are available.

Finally, the grand finale of the event is awarding grants on the spot. Last year we were able to award $15,000 in grants to businesses at the event. This year, we plan to delve out another $15,000 in grants and a major grand prize. These grants can be used by the businesses as they see fit. In these challenging times, a boost of this nature is substantial in the continued operation of a small business. Our local partners have sponsored these grants and it will be a big part of the Expo.

We look forward to seeing you Feb. 22th at 11:00AM at The Moon for the 4th Annual Black Business Expo Tallahassee presented by Mega Ace Media and the Tallahassee Leon County Office of Economic Vitality.
