Mindy's Run 2.5 Mile Fun Run

Help local kids fight cancer

"Mindy's Run" is a special portion of our day's events. Mindy's Run is 2.5 mile run dedicated to the memory of a beloved member of the West Plains Zizzer Cross Country program, Mindy Lahey-Hughston. Mindy graduated in 2004 and was a member of the only team to perfect score the Missouri State Cross Country Championship. Mindy was diagnosed with cancer shortly after her senior year of High School. Mindy fought hard, with the heart of a champion, but lost her battle on August 11, 2010. She was loved for her sweet nature and fighting spirit. Along with her family, we want to honor her legacy and help local kids fight cancer.

Ways to participate:

Mindy's Run entry proceeds will benefit West Plains Running Club and the mission of helping encourage kids to run. Associated with the event we will be selling "I Hate Cancer" tee shirts, road signs, and taking donations. All proceeds from these portions will be given to a local child fighting cancer. In the event that this is not needed, these funds will be donated to St. Jude Research Hospital.

Participants in "Mindy's Run" will get their choice of race shirt and swag item. They will also receive our very special "Mindy's Run" finisher's medal. No individual awards are given for this event.

Sign up today. Help us, help kids with cancer and celebrate the legacy of Mindy.
