During the most challenging period of my life, battling excruciating pain from Trigeminal Neuralgia, I embarked on a creative journey with a 3D installation called 'Self-Checkout.' I unknowingly gathered various items from thrift stores, garage sales, and antique shops over a few years. Despite my pain, I never doubted its eventual completion; I could already visualize it waiting for me to bring it to life.
‘Self-Checkout' is a captivating art installation that beckons observers to explore self-awareness, confront their egos, and transcend limitations. But ‘self-checkout’ is not only reflect negative connotations. We rarely celebrate ourselves of our silent deeds and achievements, our growth and inner strengths. When was the last time you had a chance to truly reflect on yourself? To break free from the everyday routine and the constant pursuit of everything and for everyone?
Through deliberate placement and rich metaphorical symbolism, these carefully curated elements inspire introspection, fostering personal growth and empowerment in observers.
As an artist, my 3D installation and photographic prints are born from my intuitive interpretations. Once they're in the public eye, I encourage everyone to explore their own perspectives. Take a moment, sit upon the welded tractor seat, gaze into the mirror, and delve within. Allow this work to inspire your unique creative outlook. There is no hierarchy of interpretations; each one is equally valid.
Take a seat…
