The 2024 beach volleyball season was a year of firsts and great accomplishments in all aspects of the sport. It wasn’t the hits that changed the season, but the new courts sponsored by Bearcat Boosters, Borjon Auto Center and Advanced Concrete and Construction. The courts were finished and completed just in time for the spring season and practices began Feb 21, 2024.

In their third year of being in Ocean League, Coach Vicky Werling knew “it is going to be a great year of growth and we are winning league.”

As Werling had foreshadowed, the team went undefeated in league, playing teams such as Morro Bay, Righetti, St. Joseph, and Nipomo.

Games were held at Paso’s newest home court, across the street from the high school, next to the district offices.

Varsity consists of six pairs and over all winning 46 games as a team.

As well as hosting a tournament with teams from Mountain League, PRHS Beach hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 23, 2024 inaugurating the opening of the Beach Complex.

The Varsity roster consists of three seniors, Skylar McEntire, Ashlee Wescom, and Kenzie Cobb. One junior, Olivia Heinbach, one sophomore, Kai Stotlzfus, and one freshman, Kiley Bowman. In addition to winning gold in their league tournament, the varsity team qualified for CIF and won the first round.

The beach team concluded their season playing SLO High School in the second round of CIF, ending with a game record of 1-3.
