AUSSIE OF THE MONTH

Aria is a kind and thoughtful member of the Senior class. She always comes to school with a positive attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn. Aria is always willing to lend a helping hand to her classmates and teachers, showing great care and respect for others. Her polite manners and friendly nature make her a joy to be around. Congratulations Aria!

urgent - library returns

opportunity class placements 2027

International Magic Festival

Thank you to the Ballina Lions Club for providing free tickets for our families to this event. The show was awesome and everyone had a fantastic night - thank you!

remembrance day

On Tuesday November 11, we came together to commemorate and honour those who have served in conflict. Our ceremony was lead by our Year 6 leaders, which included a minute of silence, the laying of wreaths, a poppy display and speeches.

fair trade competition

Congratulations to three of our students who won a prize in the recent Bangalow Fair Trade poster competition. This was a great achievement as we were competing against much larger schools. A member of the Fair Trade Association visited us on Tuesday and Dante and Coco were at the assembly to receive their awards and prizes.

senior english

We have been learning to understand the concept of pathetic fallacy and identify examples in texts. We also created our own sentences using pathetic fallacy to describe mood and atmosphere in our writing.

SENIOR inquiry

The Senior class have been exploring the unique characteristics and history of the six colonies of Australia. They designed and created persuasive posters to encourage free settlers to relocate to Australia. They also identified some of the problems in the colonies leading up to the Federation of Australia. They used their cinematography skills to create and film iMovies re-enacting the Battle of Vinegar Hill and The Eureka Stockade.

senior art

The senior class have been investigating the most famous sculptures around the world, identifying their main features shape, form and texture. We have enjoyed exploring 3D form through the making of our own sculptures using paper only.

senior maths using tangrams

The Senior Maths class investigated the properties of tangrams and were intrigued to find how all the pieces are mathematically related to each other. 

2-3 maths

This week students in 2-3 have been busy doing hands on activities to discover how area concepts help with capacity.
Students also used their knowledge of area to create their own dream houses!

k-1 art

K-1 students used watercolour to make frogs to tie in with their literacy information reports, on the life cycle of a frog.

k-1 literacy

Students in K-1 have been working hard on information reports about the lifecycle of frogs and flowers. Great writing K-1!

k-1 maths

We have had lots of fun learning about Australian money. We also looked at money from all around the world and compared it to our notes and coins. We used our addition and subtraction skills to pay for items and receive change when playing shops.

sport

We don’t like cricket! Oh no! We love it! Newrybar Public are enjoying 5 weeks of cricket for sport this term. We are learning new skills including bowling, catching and batting.
