For events of less than 40 guests, who will host all beverages, a dedicated bar / bartender is not required. Your servers will gladly retrieve any drinks that your guests would like to order from our main restaurant bar. For events of 50+ a dedicated bar and bartender is required. A dedicated bar / bartender is also highly recommended for any event in Makai Ballroom and / or events where guests will pay for beverages on own, in order to expedite service. A bartender fee of $150, per every 2 hours applies

EVENT GUIDELINES & FAQ's
FOOD & BEVERAGE All menu items and pricing are subject to seasonal and market availability. If necessary, comparable substitutions will be made. Not all menus and menu items are available to parties of all sizes.
MINIMUMS Food & Beverages Minimum Spend Requirements are set for each event space and are dependent on the season, day of week and space capacity. All menu items ordered, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages will go toward the food and beverage minimum. Please inquire with your Private Dining Coordinator. Any shortfall of your contracted food & beverage minimum would be charged as a room rental fee. If the minimum is met or exceeded, there is no room rental fee. Gratuity, administrative fees, incidental charges and sales tax do not count towards the minimum expenditure required.
EVENT MENUS For parties of 12-40, guests may select their entrees at the table, from the list of (4) entrees that you will pre-select from the plated dinner options above. Parties of over 40 guests may customize an Ohana family style menu or create a duo entrée. Buffet options are available for parties with 50 guests or more. Please ask your guests to note any special dietary restrictions.
GUARANTEES HMK requests an estimated headcount (30) days prior and an update (7) days prior to order and staff accordingly. A guaranteed guest count must be confirmed 3 days prior to your event, along with a confirmed guest arrival and order time. No-shows on a guaranteed count will be charged full price of the set menu. You will be charged for the guarantee count or the actual number in attendance, whichever is greater.
CONFIRMATION All reservations will remain tentative until an agreement form has been completed and returned to our office. A signed agreement is required to confirm all reservations in special event spaces.
PAYMENT Humble Market Kitchin does not provide separate checks for parties over 12. HMK does not accept post-event payment. All payment must be settled at the conclusion of / on the evening of your event.
CANCELLATION POLICY For Private Dining Rooms or Full Restaurant Buyouts: If there is a cancellation within thirty (30) days, a cancellation fee equal to one half of the contracted food and beverage minimum will be charged. If there is a cancellation within fourteen (14) days, a cancellation fee equal to the full amount of the contracted food and beverage minimum will be charged. Cancellations made within three (3) business days of the event date will result in a cancellation fee equal to the contracted food and beverage minimum, or for the number of guests originally contracted for, whichever is greater.
LEGAL DRINKING AGE The state of Hawaii has a legal drinking age of 21. Guests will be asked for ID. All bar and liquor costs are based on consumption.
WINE Order for pre-selection of wines must be placed at least two weeks in advance to ensure availability. Maui County liquor laws allow guests to bring their own wine. We permit a maximum of one 750 ml bottle of wine per person and the wine must be unopened and not be on our current wine list. There is a corkage fee of $30 per bottle. Maui County liquor laws prohibit any other alcohol from being brought in or leaving the establishment.
TIME RESTRICTIONS Due to the volume of service during our peak restaurant hours we wish to be able to provide the best experience possible for all our guests. We may ask for flexibility in timing in order to accommodate existing bookings. Early access to set up the room may be allowed with discretion based on availability, not to exceed 4 hours in advance. All events must end by the scheduled time. The Wailea Beach Resort has a strict noise curfew of 10 PM.
DELIVERIES Any event deliveries, centerpieces, favors or specialty cakes should be labled with event name and delivered at least 2 hours in advance. Please inform your event coordinator of any deliveries.
TAXES & FEES All food and beverage is subject to an administration fee of 3%, which does not represent compensation, gratuity, or service charge for the restaurant service staff. A bartender fee of $150+ tax per 100 guests may apply, if necessary. A $500 Site Fee will be applied to groups over 40 guests held in the Makai Ballroom & Lanai. Cake cutting, audio visual, linen or table rental fees may apply. A room rental fee may apply, should the event fall short of your contracted food and beverage minimum. Any removal or relocation of Humble Market Kitchin’s existing furniture will be subject to additional labor fees. All food, beverage, room rental, contracted audio visual, decoration, specialty cakes, rental charges and administration fees are subject to state sales tax. A standard gratuity of 20% - 25% is suggested and will added to the client's final bill.
COMPLIMENTARY PARKING VALIDATION Self parking tickets from the resort parking structure and valet tickets can be validated at our host desk. If more than 10 cars, limousines or shuttle services are expected, please inform your private dining coordinator to make arrangements.
