Year 12 Formal

Our Year 12 Formal was a wonderful celebration held at Plantation House, where students and teachers alike enjoyed an evening of fun and memorable moments. This event marked the conclusion of the HSC exams, and we congratulate all our graduating students for their hard work and dedication. We wish them every success as they embark on their future endeavours beyond school.

Remembrance Day

In solemn recognition of Remembrance Day, our school held a heartfelt assembly to honour the sacrifices of those who have served in our armed forces. The program included the reading of poignant poems and a minute silence, providing a moment for reflection and gratitude. Staff also shared personal stories of family members who had previously served in war, adding a meaningful and personal dimension to the commemoration. This important tradition reminds us of the value of peace and the courage of those who have protected our freedoms.

School Leaders 2026 Induction Ceremony

We were proud to hold an assembly to formally induct our new school Captains, Archie and Meika, along with our Vice Captains, Ben and Phoenix. During the ceremony, they took the oath of office, committing to lead with integrity and dedication throughout the year ahead. We congratulate them on their new leadership roles and look forward to their contributions in guiding our school community. We also extend our sincere thanks to the outgoing student leadership team - Archie, Beatrice, Bronte and Lachie - for their hard work and positive impact during their term of service.

RYDA Program

Our Year 10 and Year 11 students recently participated in the RYDA (Rotary Youth Driver Awareness) program, a one-day interactive workshop focused on road safety education. Designed to reduce road trauma, RYDA encourages young people to think critically about their driving and passenger choices through practical demonstrations, discussions on risks like fatigue and mobile phone use, and powerful personal stories from crash survivors. By exploring different perspectives, the program aims to equip students with the skills and mindset needed to make safer decisions on the road.

Year 5

We are pleased to welcome students from our partner primary schools to the upcoming Year 5 Taster Day on Tuesday 25 November. This special event offers students an opportunity to experience what life at high school will be like through engaging classes and activities. The day is designed to support and ease the transition process for these students as they prepare to begin their high school journey with us in 2027. Parents will be informed of all arrangements through their child’s current partner primary school.

Year 6

We warmly welcome our current Year 6 students, who will join us as Year 7 students next year, to the Year 6 Orientation Day on Tuesday 2 December. This important day is designed to ensure a smooth and confident transition by helping students become familiar with high school routines, expectations, and available support systems. It also provides valuable opportunities to build peer connections, boost confidence, and reinforce our school’s welcoming culture of belonging and safety.

P&C

Our final Parent and Community (P&C) meeting for 2025 will be held at Cudgen Surf Club at 6pm on Monday 17 November. This is a great opportunity for new members to meet returning and long-serving parents in an informal and relaxed setting. Attendees can hear the latest updates about what is happening at the school and provide valuable feedback as part of our ongoing consultation and school planning processes.

Sport achievements

We are thrilled to celebrate the recent sporting successes of our students. Both the Opens Boys Cricket and Under-14 Boys Cricket teams secured impressive victories against Ballina Coast. Congratulations to Arli, Kai and Sammy on their selection into the Gold Coast Suns AFL Academy, and to Mia and Harry for being chosen for the Titans Rugby League Academy squad. Additionally, our 3x3 basketball teams performed exceptionally well, with the boys’ junior and senior teams taking out the competition, while the girls achieved an honourable placing. These achievements highlight the dedication and talent within our school community.

Bunnings BBQ

A big thank you to the staff and students who generously gave up their Sunday to host a BBQ fundraiser at Tweed Bunnings. The event was a fantastic opportunity to raise money for projects the SRC will be running from the end of this year through to 2026. It was wonderful to see families coming along to support the event, and while we may be a little biased, the sausages certainly tasted great!

Rotary Club’s Towards Respectful Relationships film project

Kingscliff High School proudly participated in the Rotary Club’s Towards Respectful Relationships film project last term, with three student groups taking part alongside many other schools. We are delighted to announce that one of our groups - Taylor, Jason, Noah and Theo - won the night’s top prize. At the presentation evening, all entries were screened. These become helpful resources for our students to view when discussing healthy relationships in lessons.

GENERAL NEWS

Safe use of E-bikes - Important Information

Dear Parents and Carers, We are reaching out to seek your support in addressing an important safety concern involving the use of e-bikes and e-scooters by students travelling to and from school. Over recent weeks, staff and members of the community have observed a significant increase in unsafe riding behaviours, including excessive speed, riding without helmets, carrying passengers, and failing to adhere to road rules. These behaviours pose a serious risk not only to the students involved but also to pedestrians, drivers, and other students on their way to school. To help keep all young people safe, we kindly ask parents and carers to remind students of the following expectations:

  • A certified helmet must be worn at all times.
  • Only one rider per e-bike/e-scooter — carrying passengers is unsafe and illegal.
  • Riders must follow all road rules, including speed limits and giving way when required.
  • Bikes and scooters should be in safe working condition, including brakes and lights.
  • Students must ride respectfully and be aware of pedestrians and traffic.

We appreciate that many families choose e-bikes as an efficient and environmentally friendly way for students to travel. Our priority is simply ensuring that all students are using them safely and responsibly. Thank you for your ongoing support in reinforcing these expectations at home. Working together helps keep our young people and wider community safe. Please also refer to information provided by Transport for NSW and including the E-bikes Advice for families. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school.

Remembrance Ceremony

Special thank you to Ms Rosser, Mr Reid, Archie, Mieka, Nirvana and Ms Broad for their beautiful rendition of Waltzing Matilda and all our wonderful behind the scenes helpers. #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget

Rotary Club

On Wednesday 5 November, 3 student groups from Kingscliff High School attended the Kingscliff Rotary Club Awards Night to showcase the films they worked hard on throughout Term 3 around the topic of 'Towards Respectful Relationships - First Step, Self-Respect.' During this presentation evening, the lucky winners were announced for both the Rotary Prize (which is awarded for meeting the criteria of the challenge), as well as the People’s Choice Award (which was judged by our Year 9 students last week). Both prizes went to our very lucky and talented Year 10 students- Noah, Jason, Theo, and Taylor. A very big congratulations to these students, as well as Mackenize, Milli, Billie, Isla , Liv, and Claudia who also produced very powerful short films on this very important topic.

Thank you Bunnings Warehouse!

We would like to extend a big thank you to Bunnings Warehouse Australia Tweed Heads South for their generous donation to our Inclusive Education Sensory Garden. Your support is making a meaningful difference in creating a welcoming and enriching environment for all our students. We truly appreciate your commitment to inclusion and community!

As we edge toward the end of 2025, exhaustion might be real, but so is our capacity for keeping it kind. November reminds us to Notice, Offer, Value, Encourage, Make, Be, Extend, and Remind: small actions that hold massive meaning. This time of year can feel heavy and tiring, but gentleness still counts: a smile, a check-in, or simply making space for someone’s voice. Let’s finish strong with compassion over comparison and grace over gossip. The year ahead 2026, brings another chance to grow, listen deeply, and keep the spirit of being a good human alive. Kindness doesn’t need a reason...just a ripple. #novembervibes #schoolkindness #choosekind #kindnessculture #stymie #saysomething #studentsfirst #childsafeguarding #kindnessalways #forthekids #safelearningspaces #wegotyou #wehearyou #nohateheremate #cultureofcare Together, we're making a difference. about.stymie.com.au
