CENTRE COLLEGE SOFTBALL STUDY ABROAD EXPERIENCES

Lucy Baseheart, Class of 2024, RHP "Study abroad has been an incredible experience! I had the opportunity to go abroad twice, once to Italy and once to Greece. Getting to travel abroad with friends and teammates has been life changing and changed my world. Going abroad has allowed me to gain a global perspective as well as make unforgettable memories. Some of my favorite memories have been standing in front of the Colosseum and the Parthenon. Getting to study these historic sites first hand with my peers and guides are core memories and would not have been possible without Centre!"
Branan Cobb Class of 2023, RHP "I was fortunate to study abroad three times during my time at Centre, to Germany/Poland, Italy, and Barbados. All three of thee trips differed from one another and collectively were the highlight of my time at Centre as a student. My first trip was to Germany/Poland. This trip allowed me to grow so much as an individual and also hit home for me as my Grandfather was born in Germany during the Holocaust. I went to Italy the summer after my junior year. I will never forget seeing the Colosseum at sunset in Rome. Lastly, CentreTerm of my senior year, I traveled to Barbados to study monkeys. This trip was a cultural immersion and we had so much fun playing with the monkeys. Through these trips I was able to learn so much more about myself, embrace the unknown, embed myself in different cultures, and so much more. Thank you, Centre!"

The 22-2 Principle

22 Hours of the Day:

● You are a student, first and foremost

● Softball is a high priority, but NOT the most important item in your life

● You are a great teammate and friend

● You leave whatever happened on the field inside those lines

2 Hours of the Day:

● Softball is the most important thing in your life

● You are a student of the game who works to learn and apply the concepts of the game being taught

● You have to complete - playing time is earned

● Every second you are on the field – you are focused on excellence, attention to detail, and working to be better than you were the day before

CCSB Mission Statement

The Centre softball program will be conducted in a manner consistent with producing a respected team. Each year we will work together in being the best version and teammates we can be. WE FIGHT TOGETHER AS ONE!

As a student athlete it is a priority to succeed and put sufficient effort in your academics. It is your responsibility to place a priority on your academic and athletic commitment in order for us to accomplish the mission stated above.
