Friday, October 24th.... Depart U.S.A. for Munich, Germany
Day 1 - Saturday, October 25th....
Depart mid morning from Munich Airport, Germany. Our deluxe coach will whisk us into some of the most breathtaking and scenic countryside as we head into the Alps. We will arrive mid afternoon in the charming town of Zell am See. This region is famous for its natural beauty, lakes and alpine resorts. Relax and enjoy the surroundings before we meet up for our welcome dinner. Overnight Zell Am See (D)
Day 2 - Sunday, October 26th....
Gorgeous scenery awaits us after we head out to explore Austria’s most beautiful panoramic road.
We will experience alpine meadows, dense forests, glaciers and breathtaking views over the thirty plus peaks and we will stop in the most off the beaten path small magical villages. Overnight Zell Am See (B,D)
Day 3 - Monday, October 27th....
Enjoy a free day in Zell am See! Relax at our hotel and enjoy the spa, hike or shop and explore the charming village. This afternoon we will offer an optional cable car ride and short sightseeing drive (weather based). Overnight Zell Am See (B)
Day 4 - Tuesday, October 28th....
Today’s adventure takes us along the Inn River to Swarovski for a private experience. Swarovski is known for its crystals in everything from jewelry to ornaments to binoculars. Afterwards we will visit one of Christina’s favorite alpine and smallest towns, Rattenberg. This town is known for its medieval charm, architecture, glass art and delicious cakes. We will return via the alpine countryside for a scenic stop at Europe’s highest waterfalls, Krimml Falls. Overnight Zell Am See (B)
Day 5 - Wednesday, October 29th....
Today we will head down into the Green Heart of Austria, and end in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Graz, Austria. Another one of Christina’s favorites, this town holds an incredible mix of preserved medieval architectural styles and incredible culinary delights. Visit the fortress on the hill or Eggenberg Palace. Also known as the Capital of Delight you’ll immediately see why! Relax at our beautiful city center hotel or explore the many shops and museums along the cobblestone streets. (B,D)
Day 6 - Thursday, October 30.....
More off the beaten path adventures await us. Graz is surrounded by medieval castles and fortresses and most are still best kept secrets! We will visit Riegersburg Castle, which sits majestically on top of a dormant volcano. The beautiful landscape is heavily influenced by the Adriatic and we will have lots of wonderful stops along the way before returning to Graz for more time to explore or relax in the spa. (B)
Day 7 - Friday, October 31....
Explore more of Graz! Hike up to the fortress above town, visit another best kept secret of mine, the Eggenberg Palace which is truly one of the best preserved Baroque palaces. Another option is the unique armoury, which houses over 32,000 authentic pieces of military equipment from around the world, and is the world's largest museum of its kind. If going back in t Or go shopping in one of the many delightful shops. This afternoon we will go near the Slovenian border and visit a beautiful winery tucked into the heart of the countryside. (B)
Day 8 - Saturday, November 1st ....
Today we will travel back to Germany. We will have many delightful stops on the way and explore some wonderful villages with All Saints Day events. We will arrive in Freising just in time for our farewell dinner. (B,D)
Day 9 - Sunday, November 2nd....
Sadly we must say “Auf Wiedersehen” (goodbye) as your incredible alpine journey ends. We will depart early in the morning for Munich’s Airport. We hope to see you on a future VIP ALPINE TOURS adventure soon!
