- It's on US Week is this week, from April 1 - 4. TAMIU celebrates It's on US Week with a series of events aimed at addressing sexual assault prevention. Together, let's build a culture that recognizes each individual's responsibility in ending sexual violence. For a full list of events, see the flyer below.
- The First Year Writing Program Showcase is this Friday. The Showcase exhibits contributions of participating students through poster presentations. Participating students are eligible for scholarships and Dusty Dollars funded by the First Year Writing Program Presidential Innovation Grant. More information is here.
- The latest chapter in TAMIU's growth and development story will begin Friday, April 5, 2024, with Groundbreaking Ceremonies at 10 a.m. for the construction of the Health Sciences Education and Research Center and the expansion of the Western Hemispheric Trade Center. More information is here.
- Now in its 10th year, Discover TAMIU, a day of fun, free activities for the entire family, is happening this Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some 174 activities are planned throughout campus. The event is open to all. We hope to see you there! We've set up a dedicated website with fun events at https://www.tamiu.edu/discovertamiu/
- An on-campus lecture, “Charting New Depths: A Mediterranean-Atlantic Corridor Research Voyage,” features Dr. Zhiyang Li, assistant professor of Geology sharing his once-in-a-lifetime successful expedition through the European coast Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. in the Academic Innovation Center, room 126. Admission is free and open to all. Individuals are encouraged to sign up at https://go.tamiu.edu/nleevent.
- Rhizome@TAMIU, a multidisciplinary contemporary art project organized by TAMIU Artist and Visiting Assistant Professor Crystal Wagner, premieres Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts. We encourage everyone to attend this free event, a collaboration between faculty and students in the music, art, dance, theater and humanities and the community at large.

The latest chapter in TAMIU's growth and development story will be writ large on Friday, April 5, 2024, with Groundbreaking Ceremonies at 10 a.m. for the construction of the Health Sciences Education and Research Center and the expansion of the Western Hemispheric Trade Center.
First Year Writing Program Showcase Scheduled for Friday, April 5
The TAMIU First Year Writing Program Showcase of Writing will exhibit the scholarly contributions of participating students through poster presentations. Participating students are eligible for scholarships and Dusty Dollars funded by the First Year Writing Program Presidential Innovation Grant. The First Year Writing Program Showcase of Writing celebrates writing by first-year students enrolled in ENGL 1301 and ENGL 1302.
Discover TAMIU Ready to Offer Free, Family-Friendly Fun Saturday, April 6
Discover TAMIU, a day of fun, free activities for the entire family, is happening Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is open to the community. Some 170 activities are planned throughout the 300-acre campus. Event highlights include face painting, slime activities, D.I.Y. bracelets, a fish tank tour, make-your-own piggy banks, create-your-own lava lamp, a DustyTRON robotics demonstration, Loteria and so much more.

TAMIU Prof. Takes Part in Ocean Expedition, Will Share Experience in Lecture April 9
Recently, Dr. Zhiyang Li, TAMIU assistant professor of Geology, took part in the International Ocean Discovery Program Mediterranean-Atlantic Gateway Exchange (Expedition 401). An on-campus lecture, “Charting New Depths: A Mediterranean-Atlantic Corridor Research Voyage,” discussing Dr. Li’s successful expedition is planned for Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. in the Academic Innovation Center, room 126. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Rhizome Experience is Coming April 12
We're gearing up for the unveiling of “Rhizome,” a multidisciplinary contemporary art project organized by Artist and Visiting Assistant Professor Crystal Wagner that will be created at TAMIU this Spring 2024. The project involves a collaboration between faculty and students in the music, art, dance, theater, and humanities and the community at large.
TAMIU CFPA Events Happening this April
This April, several live music and dance performances are currently scheduled at TAMIU's Center for the Fine and Performing Arts. All events are free and open to the public. Donations are gladly accepted at the door to support scholarships for Fine and Performing Arts students.
TAMIU Athletics Update
TAMIU is a member of the Lone Star Conference and competes in 11 sports: volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, softball, baseball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's golf.
