Javelina Athletics

Hall of Fame Banquet will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Student Union Building Ballrooms. Tickets are on sale now!

The Javelina Hall of Fame gives recognition to former athletes, coaches and others making exceptional contributions and/or meritorious service to Javelina Athletics and the advancement of Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

2024 Inductees include:

  • Cassie Anderson '10, '13 - Softball
  • Isaac "Ike" Washington - Basketball
  • Abel Gonzalez '03 - Football
  • Jackie Collins '72 - Meritorious
  • Football No. 16 Retirement (Jarrell Hayes '59, Karl Douglas '77, Richard Ritchie '77 and Martin Stroman wore No. 16 and quarterbacked teams to seven national championships)

Governor Abbott Reappoints Andoni Zagouris '73 to State Board

Andoni Zagouris '73 was reappointed to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. The Board regulates the practice of psychology in Texas.

Zagouris spent several years as a school psychologist in the Rio Grande Valley, providing assessments and counseling services for adolescent students.

Finalists Discuss Top-of-Mind Leadership Issues at Panel Briefing in Washington, D.C.

Alumna Martha Salazar-Zamora '87, '88, '92, '99 is one of four finalists and the only one from the state of Texas. She is superintendent of Tomball ISD. Recently she was in Washington, D.C. to participate on a panel with her fellow finalists. Watch her remarks below.
