A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

What an exciting time to be part of the Muskego-Norway community! We are humbled by the positive recognition our schools continue to earn—from U.S. News & World Report rankings to state accountability report cards. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our hardworking students, the passion of our staff who genuinely love what they do, and, most importantly, the unwavering support from the families and community we serve.

While we celebrate these successes, we recognize there is still important work ahead. We are aware of performance gaps, and we are fully committed to continuously improving every aspect of our work in each of our schools. Our students and families deserve nothing less than the very best.

In other exciting news, we hope to see many of you at Camp Randall on Friday to cheer on our football team! This event will also feature incredible performances from our cheer team, dance team, and marching band. It's a special moment for our students, and we’d love for you to be part of the excitement. If you can’t make it to this event, please be sure to attend one of our many upcoming winter concerts or community events hosted in our incredible schools.

As we approach Thanksgiving, please know how grateful we are for the support we receive from our community. Great schools are built on strong community partnerships, and our 1Warrior community is thriving because of you. Your engagement makes all the difference, and we are truly grateful to have you as an essential part of our journey!

District Report Card

The Department of Public Instruction just released the public-facing Accountability Report Cards. We are excited to report that Muskego-Norway once again significantly exceeds expectations. Please follow this link to view the district's report card which provides details for each priority area score. Individual school report card results will be shared by building principals.

The State's report card provides us an opportunity to compare Muskego-Norway to the other 367 K-12 districts in the STATE. Muskego-Norway ranks:

  • 7th (98th percentile) in our overall report card score
  • 2nd in Mathematics achievement
  • 7th in English Language Arts achievement

Our district has so much to celebrate! We remain committed to continuously improving in every aspect of the vital work we do and are grateful for the continued support and focus of our staff, parents, and School Board on our mission of Every Student Learning, Growing…Succeeding.

Annual Asbestos Notification

MUSKEGO-NORWAY SCHOOL DISTRICT | ANNUAL ASBESTOS NOTIFICATION | 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

Under AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act), all primary and secondary schools are required to develop and implement a plan for managing all building materials which contain asbestos. Included in the AHERA Act is the requirement to annually notify all workers and building occupants (or their guardians) of asbestos-related activities.

Beginning in 1988, all buildings owned, leased, or “under the control of” the School District were inspected by EPA-accredited inspectors, with building material samples analyzed by an independent laboratory. Based on the inspection, the School District prepared and the state approved a comprehensive management plan for managing the asbestos.

Where the asbestos-containing materials are found, the District has in place an Operations and Maintenance program.

The District has accomplished the following compliance mandates regarding the administration of asbestos in school buildings:

  • Environmental Management Consulting, Inc. (EMC) was contracted to be the school’s consultant for asbestos for the school year.
  • The District is continuing with the Operations and Maintenance Program as designed for the School District. This ensures that all asbestos materials are kept in good condition.
  • Periodic “surveillance” in each area containing asbestos has been completed every six months by our consultant. Also, the buildings are re-inspected by an accredited inspector every three years.
  • In the past year, the District conducted the following asbestos removal activities: Renovation at High School

All outside contractors shall contact the lead maintenance person before commencing work. Our goal at the District is to be in full compliance with asbestos regulations.

A copy of the Asbestos Management Plan is available for review by contacting the District Office. Questions related to this plan or any other asbestos concerns should be directed to the District’s Designated Person, Mr. Jeremiah Johnson.
