> 2025 Year in Review < UPPER VALLEY MOUNTAIN BIKE ASSOCIATION

Thank you UVMBA members, sponsors, volunteers, LANDOWNERS, and riders!

2025 was a great year for UVMBA. We worked hard to improve the rider experience for all ability levels at the Landmark Trails in Lebanon, NH - investing in beginner and adaptive bike-friendly trails in the Nature Walk area, extending our first pro line trail in the Quarry zone, and upgrading signage throughout the network. We supported our partners at the Hartford Town Forest and Union Village Dam trails with keeping those networks in great shape. As a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization, we're incredibly thankful for the support of our community in helping us deliver some big wins for the trails.

Scroll down to see our highlights from 2025, plans for 2026, and how you can help us keep it rolling!

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT

NATURE WALK BEGINNER ZONE PROJECT

We've got big dreams for the Nature Walk area - improving adaptive bike access and providing more skill progression opportunities. Read the Beginner Zone Plan here. This year we completed Phase 1 of the Beginner Zone Plan: the first adaptive-bike optimized loop in the Landmark trail system. We brought in Green Woodlands trail builder Greg DiSanto and his machine to upgrade sections of Sherwood Forest, Penguin Passages, and Nature Walk, creating a flowy 1.5-mile loop that's perfect for entry-level riders and free of barriers for adaptive bike users.

What's next? In 2026, we will embark on Phase 2 of the Beginner Zone Plan. We plan to add more features - jumps, berms, maybe even a classic Landmark rock roll - that build rider skill and confidence to tackle more advanced terrain further out in the network. We'll be improving signage to guide users through the new terrain as well.

How you can help: We are still fundraising for this project - donate here to help make it happen!

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT

WHITE WOLF extended

White Wolf is the most advanced trail in the Landmark trail system, rolling off the top of the Quarry through a mix of tech and flow. We've been building this trail over the past few years, and this year we opened two new sections of trail with some of the spiciest features in the entire network. This trail is built to last, featuring detailed rock work led by our chief rockhound, Taylor Hardin. We're grateful to VMBA and Velocio for their financial support of this project! What's next? We are actively building the last section of the trail. Once complete, White Wolf will deliver whoops and hollers from the top of the Quarry all the way to the bottom. How you can help: White Wolf is being built by hand by volunteers, stone by stone. Reach out if you'd like to help us build.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT

NEW SIGNS FOR LANDMARK

When we did our trail user survey in 2023, the feedback was clear - the Landmark trails need better signs. Thanks to donations from our members and sponsors, we were able to work with Keene Signworx to design and fabricate a new set of signs that are more visible, durable, and informative. With 30 miles of trails and hundreds of trail intersections, we needed to purchase over 500 signs. New signs are now up throughout most of the network. What's next? Sign installation will continue into winter 2026. How you can help: Report a problem! See a sign that's wrong, missing, or poorly placed? Reach out and let us know.

MORE 2025 HIGHLIGHTS

VOLUNTEER TRAIL DAYS @ LANDMARK

Maintaining 30 miles of trails is no small task. We had two incredible volunteer workdays in spring and fall 2025. Nearly 100 volunteers came out on cold, rainy days to give back to the trails. Highlights included:

  • Upgrades to Route 10, including rock armoring of wet areas, adding more flow, improving drainage and upgrading bridges.
  • Replacing aging bridges on Panda and This Will Destroy You.

Over the summer, volunteers from Hypertherm assisted us with rock armoring wet spots on Olivia's. We also had a great community volunteer workday on White Wolf in September, sponsored by Velocio (thanks for the beer and sodas!).

Want to get involved? Join or renew your UVMBA membership, follow us on social media, and be on the lookout for announcements about our semi-annual volunteer days. No experience necessary! Even if trail work isn't your thing, your membership dollars help pay for our tools, lumber, insurance, and snacks - all essential for supporting volunteer trail maintenance.

WINTER GROOMING

We had a great winter of riding at the Landmark trails, thanks to some prime winter conditions and our volunteer trail groomers. Our trusty Snowdog grooming machine was up to the task, packing in the trails after each major snowfall.

ADAPTIVE TRAIL ASSESSMENT

In Fall 2025, UVMBA board members joined staff from VMBA, Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports, and the Kelly Brush Foundation to assess trails in the Nature Walk area. We identified a number of minor improvements that would enhance adaptive bike access. Further planning is underway to make spot improvements and widen key bridges to adaptive bike standards. Read the assessment report here.

The DAM Ride

This year, we invited riders to explore all three of our partner networks - Landmark, Hartford Town Forest, and Union Village Dam. Those who completed, logged, and shared a ride from each network were eligible to win prizes ranging from restaurant gift cards to new skis and bindings from Blizzard. This was fun - let's do it again next year!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED PRIZES!

Thanks for the visit, @projectnortheast!

uvmba financials

In 2025 we received just over $10,000 in membership fees from 421 members. Thanks to this financial support from our members, we were able to leverage almost $37,000 in additional funds through donations, sponsorships, and grants for a total revenue of $47,470 - our highest revenue total ever.

We spent most of our 2025 revenue on the Nature Walk Beginner Zone project. Revenues also paid for a significant improvement to our fleet of trail tools, new trail signs, and our costs to operate this non-profit organization. We're carrying a healthy cash balance into 2026.

We've increased our overall revenues by nearly 180% since 2023 and are investing the proceeds into making the trails better for everyone.

Now for some thank yous...

Thank you members and sponsors!

This year we were supported by 421 members! None of this is possible without membership dues and volunteer hours. Please be sure to join or renew for 2026.
