Could St Peter’s Saltley Trust help support your bright idea
We’re dedicating a third of our annual grants budget to fund grass-roots projects being developed by individual local churches, schools or colleges (or small local partnerships of these).
Grants are available for new work on religion in school education which is creative, innovative, experimental and exploratory in nature. This could include…
- RE/RS/RWE as a curriculum area
- Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development
- School ethos (particularly church school ethos)
- New approaches to collective worship
- School-church-home partnerships
- New forms of CPD for teachers
- Action Research/reflection on RE and the faith dimension of school
- And more!
We particularly want to support the development and trialling of new initiatives which could become the model or inspiration for work elsewhere.

A range of resources to explore a worldview approach, particularly through story
Thy Kingdom Come 14th - 24th May 2026
This year’s Thy Kingdom Come is all about the presence of God through His spirit. The God who is with us in the everyday – in the joys and sorrows of life (and everything in between) and the One who, through His spirit, longs to reveal Himself to those who do not yet know Him. From the story of Ruth to the story of Gideon, from the story of Elijah to the story of the early church who waited for the promised Holy Spirit to come- over the 11 days we will explore a different Bible story each day, which demonstrates God’s transformative presence, power and love at work in the lives of people and places.

Spirited Arts
Get creative through this cross-curricular competition! Closing date 31st July 2026
The competition is a fantastic way to engage teachers and students while boosting the profile of RE in your school. Some schools integrate the competition into RE lessons with a ‘Spirited Arts’ unit or a RE/arts week. Winning entries will provide a good response to one of the 6 themes, and judges will be asking ‘Is it original?’ ‘Is it well-crafted?’ And (most importantly!) ‘Is it excellent RE?’ Pupils can enter individually, in pairs or groups, or as whole class, year, or school entries. We have also been pleased to receive entries from whole community groups in previous years.
