Cultivating the Future Our Partnership with 7Ntaba Transforms Rural Agri-Business

13 February 2026 At Learning Academy Worldwide, our ambition has never been to be a "great organization" that people simply flock to. Instead, our goal is to decentralize learning and empower individuals to thrive within their own communities. Today, we are thrilled to celebrate a milestone in this mission: our flourishing partnership with 7Ntaba in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

A Legacy Reunited: From Genadendal to Haarlem

This partnership is more than a business agreement; it is the culmination of a more than 40-year journey. Theophilus van Rensburg Lindzter, founder of Learning Academy Worldwide, and Maxine Cunningham, founder of 7Ntaba, are both proud alumni of the prestigious Emil Weder High School in Genadendal, South Africa. After just over four decades, their paths have crossed again with a shared purpose: to impact their community in the same profound way they were impacted during their youth. This deep-rooted connection forms the heart of our mission to professionalize the farming trade.

The Core Skills Programme: Building a Business Foundation

Starting on February 24, 2026, our first cohort of five youth learners and five small-scale farmers will begin an intensive six-month journey. The curriculum focuses on three essential pillars:

  1. Digital Literacy: Mastering laptops and mobile applications to access global markets and expand professional networks.
  2. Financial Management: Learning to "run the books," from budgeting to managing operational farm accounts.
  3. Operational Management: Refining daily workflows to move from "idea generation" to concrete, efficient business plans.

Rather than traditional exams, our learners build a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE). This collection of work samples proves their practical competency and aligns with industry standards, providing a clear path toward a national qualification.

From Soil to Specialization

As we transition into the planting season this September, our learners will move into technical specializations. We are teaching the science of success:

  • Plant Pathology: Diagnosing crop diseases and nutrient deficiencies to protect yields.
  • Agro-Processing: Transforming raw harvests into high-value products like sunflower oil, fruit marmalades, and specialized animal feeds.
  • Seed Production: Understanding the full cycle of harvesting, storing, and selling seeds to break the cycle of dependency on large corporations.

Local Action, Global Incentive: The GreenTech 2026 Challenge

To inspire excellence, we have introduced The Amsterdam Five. The top five students who demonstrate 100% attendance, academic excellence, and the successful application of these skills to their own farming businesses will receive a fully sponsored trip to GreenTech 2026 in the Netherlands. This allows our local farmers to see international horticultural technology firsthand and bring those innovations back to South African soil.

A Unique Mentorship Ecosystem

The 7Ntaba partnership creates a unique "Youth-Farmer" ecosystem. In our Learning Lab, young people assist veteran farmers with digital navigation, while the elders share invaluable field wisdom and "farm smarts". We are not just harvesting crops; we are harvesting potential. By providing accredited training within the community, we ensure that the people of Harlem can grow their legacies without ever having to leave their land. Stay tuned for our Quarterly Impact Reports as we move toward the September planting season!
