This month's assembly will be held at the Student Center in the Forum Room (Rm 3700) at 3:30 pm!
This month we meet with the Crossroads Civic Engagement Center who's goal is to foster a thriving democratic society at the Capstone and beyond. An initiative of the Division of Community Affairs, Crossroads aims to develop engaged citizens for the State of Alabama and the world. They accomplish this through teaching, research, and service focused on four civic pillars: values, knowledge, skills and action.
OCTSA Updates
Outstanding Staff Award Nomination 2024
The OCTSA created this annual award to recognize two outstanding employees from among the office, clerical, and technical staff of The University of Alabama whose exceptional ability, performance, and attitude have advanced the mission of The University of Alabama. The nominee must be office, clerical, or technical staff (non-exempt hourly) and must have at least 5 years of consecutive service at The University of Alabama.
Nominations will be accepted from the administration, faculty, and staff of The University of Alabama. Nominations must be submitted via the nomination form. The deadline for nominations is April 5th, 2024.

The OCTSA also sends non-voting representatives to UA Standing Committees who bring valuable information back to our monthly assembly meetings.

Celebrating Women's History
The National Women’s History Month’s theme for 2024 celebrates “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.” The theme recognizes women throughout the country who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions.

Voluntary Retirement Plan Changes
Enhancements to your voluntary 403(b) and/or 457(b) retirement plans are coming soon! The University of Alabama System is pleased to partner with TIAA to help you plan and save for the future. All plan participants should receive a detailed Transition Guide in the mail this week with additional details.
Save the date! To learn more about the upcoming enhancements, the Department of Human Resources is hosting five town halls later this month:
March 21 at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. or March 25 at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
The TIAA Town Halls will be held in the Camellia Room of Gorgas Library. TIAA representatives will be on-site for each hour presentation. If you have questions, visit TIAA.org/uasystem or call TIAA: 800-842-2252.
