The first project I completed in my computer graphic design class was a montage about a special subject that needed to be seen. I chose water pollution. From this, I learned how to use numerous Photoshop tools, which helped me with all the other projects I accomplished. This project was by far the hardest project I have done because it was the first, I was new to Photoshop and didn't know any tools. My goal was to convey the meaning of water pollution and how it’s affecting the earth, and will someday become an even scarcer resource. I feel like I was able to convey the meaning of how water pollution is taking over. The pollution in the background, and the kid drinking the fresh clean water. The fish convey how they need clean water and a clean ecosystem to survive, and the only way to protect animals and people from sicknesses caused by contaminated water is to fix that problem altogether. I hope that when my audience sees this, is that the issue of pollution requires being aided.
This is the second project I finished in my Computer Graphic design class. For this project, we had to create a postcard that someone would sell and buy. From this project, I learned how to handle all of the tools in Photoshop better and started remembering what each one does. Another thing I learned was how to put images into letters, which was a big aspect of this assignment. My goal was to create a postcard that would be sold in a shop and that people would buy, creating professional artwork. I feel that this work came out quite professional and I would buy it. When my audience sees this, I hope they feel like it is sophisticated and worthy of buying.
For my third project, I created an original movie poster. We were challenged to create an original piece with only four colors. I learned how to color images and create and use original patterns. My goal was to create a professional-looking movie poster that is eye-catching. I chose horror as my theme because, during this time, Halloween was coming up. I feel I conveyed the feeling of a horror movie and was able to use the limited amount of colors well. When people see this, they feel like they want to go to this movie and like it's a good artwork.
This is the final and most recent project I have completed. This is a mockup of the book cover, spine, and back of a book of your choice with your own or changed design. By using your choice of media with many options like cardstock or leather. The book I chose to do is The World Without Us by Alan Weisman because it explores what would happen to the planet if humans were to suddenly disappear. It highlights how nature would reclaim cities, and how long it would take for traces of human existence to disappear. I used the media choice of paper cardstock because it matched the theme and look of the book. I learned how to put media over images to make them look like paper. My goal was to create a professional book cover, spine, and back. When people look upon this, I hope they see it as a book design that could be sold in stores.
