Letter to the 8th grade

Dear 8th graders,

Thank you so much for the amazing path you have set for us this year. We have appreciated having you to help us for our first year of middle school and wish you luck when you start in the upper school after summer break and we will start 8th grade, knowing that it will be an amazing year as you have shared with us.

One thing that you shared with us is to check in with teachers to stay on track academically. We learned that checking in with teachers allows them to help us with our work and stay on track. You have also taught us to not hesitate when we have a question since it is very likely someone else also does. This has helped us understand the classwork and homework that we are doing and has helped us get used to 7th grade expectations.

Another thing you have taught us is to try to talk to new people that we do not usually talk with. This has really helped us get to know people who come from different places and connect with people who we thought we never would. I do not think that I would have as many friends as I do now, if I did not try to talk to different people I’ve never met.

In summary, thank you for the support and advice you have given this year and we hope you have a wonderful time in 9th grade at the upper school. Next year, we will use your advice and guide the new 7th graders!
