GREAT JOB AT THE SHOWCASE

Congratulations to all of the studens who performed in the showcase on Saturday! It was an outstanding way to celebrate the amazing things that our kids are doing. Way to go everyone! DESTINATION IMAGINATION

Exciting News from Destination Imagination Texas State Finals! On March 29, two amazing teams from Gunn Junior High FADL—The Divas and The Dude and Duck, Duck, DI—competed at the University of Texas at Arlington and showcased their incredible talents at the Destination Imagination Texas State Finals. The Divas and The Dude took on the Technical Challenge and earned an impressive 6th place finish. The team, made up of 8th graders Adalyn A., Emmalyn T., Evelyn F., Nolan M., and Sam W., worked tirelessly to achieve this accomplishment. Duck, Duck, DI excelled in the Scientific Challenge, claiming 2nd place and earning a prestigious Renaissance Award for their innovative efforts. This stellar team includes 8th graders Natalie D., Rose G., and Tara J.

We are thrilled to announce that both teams have advanced to the Global Finals in Kansas City, MO, happening May 22-25, 2025. Their hard work, creativity, and dedication throughout the school year have truly paid off. Congratulations to these remarkable students—we’re so proud of you!

STAAR BEGINS THIS WEEK

AISD SWIM

The Gunn and Bailey swim students are training hard to compete on April 29th at the AISD Natatorium. These future Colts swim in the mornings before school at 7:00 am. An outstanding commitment for these swimmers! Gunn is one of two AISD junior High teams that has more than 20 student swimmers. Thanks to Coach Briscoe for working with these students! Come see them compete on April 29th!

ATHLETICS

In order to compete, athletes must pass all classes with a 70 or higher each six weeks.

Students and parents may attend athletic events on campus. All visitors must have a ticket to attend athletic games in AISD. Students must have an adult accompanying them who take responsibility for them. Once we have student IDs, those will also be required. JH athletic event Adult tickets are $2 plus a $1 fee. JH athletic event Student tickets are $1 plus a $1 fee.
