2024 Washington Youth Tour

Now Accepting Applications!

Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC) is now seeking two exceptional high school students to represent our cooperative and state as 2024 Washington Youth Tour delegates.

This leadership experience and tour of Washington, D.C., is an unparalleled student opportunity. The tour will include meetings with state and national leaders, and visits to all the major sites.

Our delegates will join over 100 other representatives from Georgia and more than 1,500 students from around the nation—all expenses paid—for one incredible week in our nation's capital.

  • Open to high school students who will be at least 16 years old by June 14, 2024.
  • Students who live and attend school in one of our 14 serviced counties. Students do not have to live in a home served by CGEMC.
  • Application deadline: January 15, 2024
  • Selected candidates will be invited to interview on February 7, 2024.
  • Trip dates: June 14-21, 2024

Capital credits refunds totaling approximately $1,435,122 are being mailed throughout December. This year’s checks are your portion of margins over and above the cost of providing electric service during a portion of 2004.

Capital credits are just one of the many additional benefits of your membership. According to the cooperative business principles that govern our not-for-profit business model, capital credits may be returned to each customer-owner on a pro rata basis.

Holiday Safety Tip

Keep your natural Christmas tree fresh by watering it every day. A dry Christmas tree can burn very hot and very fast. Make sure your tree is at least 3 feet away from heat sources like fireplaces, radiators, space heaters, candles, or heat vents. Also, make sure your tree does not block exits.
