Please note, dogs are not permitted on school grounds at any time.

Newrybar Athletics

What a wonderful time we had at our Newrybar Athletics event last week! Everyone had an enjoyable afternoon rotating through the sprints, shotput, discus and long jump. A huge thank you to Mrs Leeson for the time and work she put into organising the carnival. We now look forward to participating at the VoSS Athletics Carnival on the 27th June at Byron Bay. Students nominated for events at the VoSS carnival will be reminded before and at the carnival. Parents and families are invited to join us at Cavanbah to watch our team.

PSSA Soccer knockout

What a team! We are very proud of how the NPS Soccer team showed great sportsmanship and ability yesterday at Bangalow in the Small Schools' Knockout competition. Thank you to Mrs Leeson for training the team during lunch times. We wish Eltham well as they progress to Round 4 of the Division 2 Knockout.

2-3 inquiry

As part of our inquiry this week we are learning about indigenous culture. We made our own version of 'Desert Weavers' using wool and found objects. This is a fundamental and vital part of contemporary culture among many desert communities.

2-3 maths

Whilst learning about adding and substracting money, students designed their own board games to see who could win the most money.

K-1 maths

We have had fun using ten-pins and playing "Knock 'em down" as we learn to add and subtract numbers to ten and beyond.
We investigated the capacity of containers through packing and filling this week. Yr 1 learnt how to record their estimates and measurements to share with the class.
Did you know insects have six legs? We made hexabugs because hexagons have six sides. Can you see a hexabuzz, an antagon and a hexafly?

4-6 art

Students enjoyed learning about Japanese animation culture and had a go at designing their own characters. There sure were some interesting characters!

K-1 art

This week we learned to use black and white paint to create shades of different colours. We used our different shades to paint our self-portraits.

k-1 inquiry

K-1 enjoyed turning our classroom into restaurants and learning about how spaces are used differently in Geography.

4-6 maths

We have been discovering the world of prime numbers. Understanding prime and composite numbers is fundamental in number theory.

4-6 literacy

The senior class have had fun identifying, creating and acting out puns. Some of them were very punny!

4-6 inquiry

We have continued to investigate what occurs as a result of the interaction between the Sun, the Earth and the Moon. We shared our understanding of this by acting it out. We have also created space fact books to share with the younger students. Today we created our own mnemonics to remember the order of the planets.

Our Skate School Day Camp is a great way to meet some new friends that share the same passion and improve your skateboarding skills. We offer a full day of skateboard instruction in a fun day camp environment, at our coaching facility in Byron industrial estate. Our Skate Day Camp is a unique and fun experience for kids aged 6 to 12 years old at a range of skill levels. 9am - 2pm COST: $120 *includes lunch and snacks.
