Boarders' International Evening
Our boarders and staff had a fantastic evening last Friday, at the annual Boarders' International Evening. The Dining Room was transformed and our Catering Team created an excellent menu for dinner with dishes and drinks from a variety of countries, including mezze from the Middle East, burgers from the US, Thai milk tea and bubble tea, and culminating with a very British Eton Mess for pudding!
After dinner, students then tested their knowledge of flags from around the world and took part in a particularly tricky "True or False" round with questions from different cultures!
Computer Science
This term, Years 7, 8 and 9 have been using the Cyber Explorers platform to learn about the cyber security. They have learned about navigating folder structures using command prompts, how malware can be hidden in files and how to remove malware. They have also learned about computer hardware and the importance of ensuring that a device boots securely.
Teams representing each year group will have put this knowledge to good use in their one hour competition slot this week. Well done everyone for taking part!
Laser Tag!

Oedipus Theatre Trip
On Thursday, 27th March, the Classics and Drama departments took the Sixth Form to see Oedipus at the Old Vic Theatre. Classics students study this as part of their A Level course. The Drama students compared it to performances of modern plays.
“The chorus was really good. The dancing was really cool and I liked how they portrayed the plague. Tiresias was fantastic. The obvious highlight was Rami Malek as Oedipus.” Grace, Lower Sixth
“Absolutely smashing. I loved how it could have all been avoided if they had continued to live in the bliss of ignorance. I loved the performance of Rami Malek.” Kateryna, Lower Sixth
Year 10 Classics Lesson
Also in Classics, today the Year 10 students reenacted a Roman sacrifice, as they have been studying sacrifices this half term.
“We performed a Roman sacrifice on Cliffordius Magnus Ruber Canis to Apollo for luck in our exams. We did this to better understand how it felt. It was really fun and went pretty well.” Gisele, Year 10
“We had a procession to the temple altar. We had a libation and used mola salsa. He was stunned and his throat was cut. His entrails were red and we ate them after sacrificing some to the gods. We screamed to mark his passage from life to death.” Bibi, Year 10.
Duke of Edinburgh Silver Expedition
Over the weekend the Duke of Edinburgh Silver teams travelled to Arundel to complete their assessed expedition. They were blessed with wonderful weather and beautiful views for their walk across the South Downs where they covered over 50km across the three days. Their assessors complimented them on their exemplary navigation and teamwork, with all students passing this stage with flying colours!
