Dear University community,

  • As we approach Thanksgiving, let us all pause to acknowledge and thank those that help make our daily paths and progress possible. We are all blessed in many ways and Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to reflect on our blessings…and how we can share them with others.
  • Tonight, why not share in the blessings of the world’s best-known playwright, Shakespeare, with the first of two free performances open to all by the Texas Shakespeare Festival’s Roadshow. Tonight, at 6:30 p.m., we’ll present the romantic tragedy “Romeo & Juliet,” and Tuesday, also at 6:30 p.m., TSFR will present “Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits.” Both will be held in the CFPA Theatre. It’s a great way to begin the holiday season. Find out more.
  • University offices will close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22 and reopen on Monday, Nov. 30.
  • Invite a friend and head to TAMIU's Center for the Fine and Performing Arts for several end-of-semester performances. You can find a full list of CFPA events, many with a holiday theme, at go.tamiu.edu/fpaevents.
  • Students, remember Registration for TAMIU's Wintermester and Spring 2024 courses continue online via UConnect. Registration is open for all students, undergraduate and graduate. To learn more about TAMIU's Registration processes, visit the dedicated Registration Hub at https://go.tamiu.edu/registration.
  • The Graduate School Dean Search Committee, Co-Chaired by Dr. John Kilburn, Associate Vice President, Research and Sponsored Projects, and Dr. Pat Abrego, Director, Academic Technology, has announced open forums for the four candidates for Graduate School Dean. Candidates, forum dates and location are the following: 3) Dr. Karen Martirosyan, Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1:10 p.m.-2:30 p.m., AIC 126; 4) Dr. Sel Dibooglu, Monday, Nov. 27, 3:10 p.m.-4:30 p.m., AIC 126.

If you’re traveling for the holiday, please do so carefully. Here’s wishing all Dustdevils a Happy Thanksgiving!
