Celebrating the Journey
Bosque School Commencement 2025
Bosque School honored the Class of 2025 during a heartfelt commencement ceremony that celebrated not only academic achievement but also the meaningful relationships, growth, and resilience that defined their time as students.
The ceremony featured reflections, music, and words of encouragement from speakers who inspired graduates to embrace the road ahead with confidence and curiosity.
Dr. Jessie Barrie, head of school, delivered a thoughtful address that drew inspiration from the musical, “Hadestown.” She spoke about the importance of resilience and the role of hope in life’s transitions. Acknowledging the challenges that come with change, she reminded students that the college journey, while unpredictable, often leads each person exactly where they need to go.
Congratulations to the Class of 2025! We are proud of all you’ve achieved and excited for everything that lies ahead.
Stepping Up and Looking Ahead
On Thursday, May 22, Bosque School’s middle school community gathered in Sanchez Park for one of the year’s most meaningful traditions: Step-Up Day. This beloved event honors the transition our 8th-grade students make as they complete middle school and prepare to enter upper school, while also recognizing the symbolic “step up” taken by sixth and seventh graders as they move into new grade-level roles.
More than a promotion ceremony, Step-Up is a celebration of growth—academic, personal, and social—that students experience during their middle school years. The event featured thoughtful reflections, shared memories, and inspiring messages from teachers and administrators who applauded students’ resilience and progress.
Congratulations to the Class of 2029. Your future is bright, and we look forward to seeing you in upper school!
Class of 2025 Shines at Senior Colloquium
Bosque School proudly congratulates the Class of 2025, who, prior to graduation, presented their completed senior thesis projects at this year’s Colloquium. These outstanding presentations represent the culmination of months of rigorous research and deep intellectual exploration.
The journey began in August, as seniors identified topics they felt passionate about. By September, they had refined their ideas into focused research questions. By mid-fall, each student had submitted a formal proposal, selected an outside reader, and immersed themselves in the research process.
Immersives 2025
Deep Learning, Real-World Experiences, and Lasting Memories
Every spring, Bosque School’s upper and middle school students step outside the traditional classroom and into a world of immersive, hands-on learning. Our signature Immersives program is designed to inspire curiosity, deepen understanding, and provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. This year’s offerings did all that and more, combining academic rigor with creativity, collaboration, and exploration.
Over the course of three weeks, students engaged in specialized courses that reflected their passions and pushed them to think critically and creatively. These experiences were more than just projects; they were journeys of discovery, growth, and community-building.
Upper school students had a wide variety of options this year, from Art & Social Justice to Hip Hop/DJ 101, Medical Reserve Corps, and Engineering the Future. Other courses included Arte, Cultura y Culinaria, Community Builders, Crime Scene Investigation, Gods & Heroes, Intercultural Exchange, Lights, Camera, Action, Senior Experience, Sports Medicine, and The Wild.

Kiara, who graduated with the Bosque School class of 2025, was also recognized as a Top 5 Best Actress finalist and performed a solo during the final ceremony at Popejoy Hall.
Celebrating 30 Years
Thank You for an Unforgettable Weekend
What a celebration! Thirty years, three incredible days, and more than 850 members of our Bosque School community came together to mark this milestone—and we couldn’t be more grateful.
From heartfelt reunions to joyful dancing and everything in between, the 30th-anniversary celebration was filled with the spirit, connection, and generosity that define Bosque School. Saturday night’s UnGala was especially memorable, with many calling it the best event in the school’s history.
Thanks to your enthusiasm and support, we raised more than $242,000 for student financial aid—a record-breaking total that will directly impact the lives of current and future Bobcats.
If you would still like to make a gift in honor of Bosque School’s 30th anniversary, it’s not too late.
If you won an auction item or purchased a wine pull ticket and haven’t yet picked up your bottle, please contact Chelsea Gorsky at chelsea.gorsky@bosqueschool.org to arrange pickup.
