It’s an explosion of flavor and color, making it a perfect snack for any birthday party or celebration.

What You’ll Need for Birthday Cake Popcorn
Making Birthday Cake Popcorn is easy. Here’s a list of what you’ll need to get started:
Popcorn: You can use Microwave Popcorn for convenience or go with the stovetop variety if you prefer. If you want a neutral flavor to work with, try White Microwave Popcorn. It’s light and buttery, perfect for absorbing the birthday cake coating.
Birthday Cake Mix: You don’t need to make a cake from scratch to capture that iconic birthday cake flavor. A simple box of birthday cake mix will do the trick. Mix it with some melted butter for that rich, cake batter taste.
Candy Melts: To get that fun, colorful finish, candy melts in pastel colors (pink, blue, yellow) work perfectly. You can find them at most craft stores or online.
Sprinkles: To finish off your creation, add some colorful sprinkles. This will give the popcorn that festive birthday cake touch!
Optional Ingredients: For extra crunch or flavor, you can toss in mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, or even some drizzle of melted chocolate
How to Make Birthday Cake Popcorn
Making Birthday Cake Popcorn is easy and fun, especially if you’re looking for a quick and festive treat. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Pop the Popcorn
Start by popping your microwave popcorn. Whether you’re using White Microwave Popcorn or a flavor like Kettle Popcorn, make sure to follow the instructions on the bag for the best results. Once popped, place the popcorn in a large bowl, making sure it’s nice and fluffy.
Step 2: Mix the Birthday Cake Batter
In a separate bowl, melt some butter and mix it with the birthday cake mix. You don’t need to add eggs or milk—just the dry mix combined with the melted butter will create the cake-like flavor that will coat the popcorn. Stir it well so the batter is smooth and ready to go.
Step 3: Coat the Popcorn
Pour the birthday cake mixture over the popcorn, stirring gently to ensure that every kernel is coated. This is the fun part! The mix should stick to the popcorn, creating a sweet, creamy layer that gives it that birthday cake flavor.
Step 4: Add the Candy Melts and Sprinkles
Now it’s time to make the popcorn truly festive. Melt your candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth. Drizzle the melted candy over the coated popcorn for that sugary finish.
While the candy melts are still soft, sprinkle colorful birthday sprinkles over the top. You can get creative with the sprinkle mix, choosing colors that match the theme of your birthday party. If you’re feeling adventurous, toss in some mini marshmallows or extra chocolate chips to add more flavor and texture.
Step 5: Let It Set
Allow the popcorn to cool and set. The candy coating will harden slightly, giving you a crunchy, sweet snack. You can pop it in the fridge to speed up the setting process or just let it cool at room temperature.
Why It’s Perfect for Birthdays
Birthday Cake Popcorn isn’t just a fun, colorful treat; it’s also incredibly versatile. Whether you’re celebrating a child’s birthday or having an adult-themed party, this snack fits in perfectly. The popcorn serves as a base for whatever birthday cake flavor and vibe you want to create. The fun colors and sprinkles add an extra festive touch that will brighten up any party table.
Since it’s a no-bake recipe, it’s an easy way to add a personal touch to your party spread without spending hours in the kitchen. Plus, it’s a great snack for people of all ages to enjoy, whether they’re snacking during a movie marathon or grabbing a bite at the party.
How to Customize Your Birthday Cake Popcorn
One of the best parts of making Birthday Cake Popcorn is how customizable it is. Here are a few ways you can adjust the recipe to suit your tastes:
Different Popcorn: If you’re craving a different flavor, switch up your popcorn. Try Kettle Popcorn if you want a slightly sweeter base or use Farmer Jon’s Popcorn for a farm-fresh, natural flavor that complements the sweetness of the cake coating.
Flavor Variations: While birthday cake mix is a classic, you can experiment with other cake flavors like chocolate, vanilla, or even funfetti. The possibilities are endless when it comes to flavor combinations.
Add More Toppings: Get creative with your toppings. Try adding crushed candies, chocolate chunks, or even whipped cream for a birthday cake sundae vibe.
Healthier Options: Want a healthier version? Use air-popped White Microwave Popcorn and swap the candy melts for a drizzle of dark chocolate or a yogurt coating for a lighter alternative.
Conclusion: A Snack as Fun as a Birthday Party
Birthday Cake Popcorn is a snack that’s as sweet and fun as any birthday celebration. It’s easy to make, customizable, and perfect for adding a colorful touch to your party. Whether you stick with the classic White Microwave Popcorn or get creative with different flavors, this treat is sure to put a smile on your guests’ faces.
So, next time you’re celebrating a birthday, don’t forget to whip up some Birthday Cake Popcorn. It’s a simple, festive snack that’s sure to make your party even more special. Happy snacking, and happy birthday!

APRIL 23RD
Rose Festival
The hem of the pool expands indefinitely, ringing the sleeping dog and now worried fox with concentric circles of glowing liquid. The pool has lost its reflection in the spread, imbued with an inner light that seems to have its own authority, though not lacking in warmth. A once dull and listless pooch now shines with the brilliance of a recently cleaned pinball machine — unknowingly showcasing a rescued sense of neon.
A look at highlights form last year's festival.

Fenella & Flora Floristry
The fox and the dog free-fall off the edge into nothing, which is to say, they were fine. Landing promptly on the other side of the world, they look up into what is somehow a giant hand, impossibly looking back at them. The hand bends toward them without beckoning, and the dog and fox survey their new landscape, the under-pool — or their second world. Flat, gleaming, and forever, this place serves as a canvas for whatever happens next. The mother of all creation in one single moment, this hand.
In a quiet flash, the dog remembers a lyric from his boyhood — “Out of our hands / fall the gold of youth” — and wonders if this is a fever dream or if he finally now resides within art.
Volunteers Needed
We are looking for Volunteers for the following list of events, Rose Festival, Farmers Market, Toy Drive, Street Cleanup.
Known for his sweetness, this dog shakes himself awake with a gentle groan and cranes his loaf-like head towards the fox with a quizzical bent. As they lock eyes, what world they know is flipped completely towards the southern sky, and the pool ushers them swiftly over the edge of the horizon’s curve.
