Last Week's Highlights

Week In Review
Question of the week: If you had to pick just one tech support task to handle for teachers all week, which would you choose?

This week, the Technology & Innovation team demonstrated exceptional collaboration and problem-solving across a wide range of initiatives. We resolved iPad and Apple Classroom account issues in multiple buildings, supported parent portal accounts, and handled help desk tickets with efficiency. Staff development efforts included setting up accounts for new teachers, preparing workshop materials, and assisting with attendance tracking. A major highlight was the department’s swift and coordinated response to the internet instability. Our teams came together to develop a continuity plan, organize emergency huddles, and prepare outage scenario strategies. This proactive approach ensured minimal disruption to district operations and showcased the team's ability to adapt quickly under pressure. A huge thank you to everyone involved—your teamwork made a big difference.

Infrastructure work continued with device deployments, badge access server installs, and troubleshooting across voicemail systems, walkie/radio communications, and software platforms. The team also investigated Microsoft multifactor authentication requirements, conducted firewall audits, and addressed file visibility issues related to retired accounts. On the data and reporting front, staff created visualizations for student services, transitioned data feeds to new systems, and prepared reports for curriculum planning and state audits. Calendar coordination was enhanced through Teams automation, improving alignment for grading windows, report card postings, and IEP deadlines.

Additional efforts included software fixes, documentation updates, and support for specialized labs and VR testing. Overall, the department’s work this week reflects a strong commitment to innovation, reliability, and service excellence.

Shout-Outs or Appreciations

Katherine was praised for her dedication in helping technicians close open tickets, and Anneliese’s “question of the day” initiative was celebrated for boosting team morale and sparking fun conversations. Corey Smith was commended for his steady monitoring and direct reporting during the network outage, which helped shorten the disruption for district staff. Trevor Decesare earned a shout-out for leading calendar setup for the 2025–26 school year and supporting building teams. Jim Baldridge was appreciated for stepping in at East on short notice, while Will Everett, Mike Kelly, and Ryan Garvin were recognized for their continued support with CAD lab and phone troubleshooting. Lastly, Andrew Smith and Corey Smith were applauded for spearheading efforts with the BCIU during this week’s network issues. Thank you to everyone for your contributions—your teamwork and dedication make a real difference!

See the Good, Be the Good

As part of our district-wide theme for 2025–26, See the Good, Be the Good, we’re highlighting moments of positivity, collaboration, and impact across our schools and ESC. Each week, staff are invited to share examples of “good” they’ve seen — whether it’s a small act of kindness, a team effort, or a breakthrough that made a difference. Here are two standout moments from this week’s submissions:

This week brought several moments of kindness and innovation worth celebrating. Lori Rebstock was appreciated for her thoughtful gesture in pausing lobby duty to support a colleague’s transition back to work. Kevin Kreyenhagen and the Holicong Leadership Team were recognized for their excitement and readiness to launch student scanning next week, marking a major step forward in schoolwide use of IC Hall Pass and Attendance Scanning. Their efforts are helping the district move toward real-time student tracking and enhanced safety. Mike Kelly was acknowledged for cross-training staff and generously sharing his expertise to build team capacity. These contributions reflect the spirit of “See the Good, Be the Good” and remind us how small actions can make a big impact.
