Postponed to 2020 World Series Poker Fall

The 51st game of the World Series of Fokers (WSOP), scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 26, at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, is officially being postponed due to a public health emergency related to COVID-19. It is currently targeting fall 2020, with an exact date and event to be determined.

"We are committed to running the World Series of Poker this year, but we need extra time to proceed on a traditional scale, prioritizing the welfare of our guests and staff," said Ty Stewart, the executive director of the World Series of Poker. "In the meantime, the official WSOP competition is expected to take place online this summer, and we will soon announce the details of the expanded series, which will take place on WSOP.com and through partnerships with international operators, so players can chase WSOP glory from their homes."

Postponed will revise the 2020 WSOP schedule, with changes expected. This year's edition will include the Poker World Championship, and the $10,000 Purchase Main Event Championship, which will earn the most prize money on the Poker Calendar each year. Plans will be forwarded once details on the revised 2020 WSOP are finalized.

The next live event on the WSOP calendar remains the Global Casino Championship, scheduled for Aug. 11-13, 2020, at Harrah's Cherrokee in Harrah, North Carolina. It is an invitation-only event that is open to eligible people.

WSOP Europe, which will be held at the King's Resort in Rosebadov, Czech Republic, remains on the fall 2020 calendar. 슬롯사이트
