Mark has over 45 years’ experience across 40 countries, bringing a unique perspective as a former senior detective now working in animal welfare. He is currently Campaigns Manager at Naturewatch Foundation, leading efforts to strengthen legislation by highlighting the clear link between animal cruelty and wider criminal behaviour. His policing career ranged from frontline patrol to senior detective roles, specialising in covert operations tackling serious crime and terrorism. He was involved in the development of undercover tactics, including leading innovative deployments on high-profile child homicides. For the past 15 years, since retiring from policing, he has remained focused on public protection through national and international animal welfare campaigns. His work involves close collaboration with police, prosecutors, and policymakers to drive legal and policy reforms that safeguard both animals and vulnerable people.
