The Strategic Power of Relationships
The Virtue that Elevates Leadership
At the heart of every successful team is the virtue of relationships. The Severn Leadership Group is not just a leadership training program. We equip leaders to develop effective teams and have organizational impact. As our Founder Sig Berg says: "Relationships affirm that people flourish in a cohesive community and that trust is the currency of effective leadership. Strong relationships enable collaboration across functions, sustain resilience under pressure, and bind teams together in shared responsibility for results." In 2025, we worked with more senior leaders who understand this truth and the value of investing in relationships for their teams. Many sponsored our work to build better teams within their organizations and to support our community leaders (nonprofits and first responders). Together, we are making a difference by fortifying the character and culture of where we work and live.
In Their Own Words
This program will challenge you, stretch you, and ultimately grow you in ways you didn’t expect. It’s not just about becoming a better leader—it’s about becoming a more whole person. If you’re ready to reflect, be honest, and build meaningful relationships, this is the program for you. The community, mentorship, and resources are unmatched.”

This program is a leadership development fellowship unlike anything you’ve seen. How you start looking at the program is not how you will leave, understanding all you’ve learned. It’s worth the investment.

The SLG Teams Program provided a platform for the leaders of our Company to do a deep dive and examine what's working and what's not in our culture and our way of doing business. It further provided a deeper understanding of the commitment each of our leaders have for the betterment of the Company.

Impact Stories
Diane Boymel
Spring 2025 Team Fellow & Fall 2025 Mentor
Great strides in leadership can be made by simply listening and acknowledging rather than telling.
Diane joined the program hoping to deepen her self-awareness and strengthen her ability to build meaningful connections. Through the mentoring experience, she discovered the powerful role storytelling can play in building trust and bridging differences. Her relationship with her Fellow Jenn Tiamson reinforced the value of listening, curiosity, and authentic engagement. Moments when Jenn reflected or captured insights during their conversations affirmed that their dialogue was creating real growth and connection. Diane also gained a new appreciation for how her own life experiences and stories can help guide others. The program reminded her that leadership is not only about technical expertise—it is about relationships, resilience, and creating space for reflection. She believes the program’s greatest impact is encouraging leaders to see teamwork through the lens of virtue and inspiring positive change that spreads from one person to another.
One word to describe the experience: Insightful
Jenn Tiamson
Fall 2025 Fellow
Mentors create a judgment-free space to explore life’s layers and help fellows grow into stronger leaders.
Jenn entered the program during a pivotal moment in her life, seeking a fresh perspective and the tools to grow both personally and professionally. Through her mentorship with Diane, she learned that caring for herself is essential to caring for others—an insight that reshaped how she approaches leadership and life. The program challenged her to rethink long-held assumptions, particularly around empathy, followership, and relationships. With Diane’s guidance, Jenn began to value curiosity, emotional connection, and small wins as part of meaningful leadership growth. She has since applied these lessons in her workplace by encouraging more collaborative, team-focused approaches and by prioritizing in-person connection and communication. The experience helped her become more confident, reflective, and intentional in her leadership. Jenn believes the program has the power to transform organizations by helping leaders build healthier cultures rooted in virtue.
One word to describe the experience: Transformative
When the world was experiencing a downturn in donor engagement, our donors and investors stepped up, making 2025 our best fundraising year to date. We partnered with the nonprofit The 8 Principles, which helped us refine our fundraising principles and mindset, and together we proved that “Leaders Lead” when it comes to giving.
Our board and staff understand the importance of being good stewards of our resources. With our disciplined approach to budgeting, governance, and operations, we continue to deliver our services with excellence while carefully streamlining our overhead processes to maximize efficiency.
SLG Mentors came together to create a powerful collaboration that is the heart of the Severn Leadership Group's mission. Mentorship Mastery: A Holistic Guide for Virtuous Leaders underscores the importance of mentorship relationships, with a collection of stories and strategies that any leader can apply. Because of our strong network of supporters, and the support of our publisher, Brave Healer Productions, we became a #1 Amazon Bestseller in three (3) categories! Charting the Course for 2026
In 2026, we are strengthening the systems and partnerships that allow us to serve organizations more intentionally and effectively. We will formalize our business development and sales pipeline to maximize both team and individual leader cohorts, ensuring organizations have access to cohesive, virtue-driven team leadership development. Our workshops and organizational mentor programming will equip entire teams with a shared framework for virtuous leadership, while continuing to refine and refresh our existing programs to meet evolving workplace realities. Our impact will expand through strategic marketing, increased speaking and network presence in target markets, and deeper strategic partnerships. To maintain our strong investor presence, we will invite additional transformational investors to increase access for mission-driven leaders through paid fellowships and strong board leadership. 2026 is a year of alignment and intentional growth—serving organizations from the inside out.
