Skin Care essentials: Tretinoin

What is Tretinoin & Why Do You Need it?

The newest addition to our skincare regimen. Tretinoin is a very strong variety of retinoid that most commonly is used for acne treatment and skin diseases but that's not all (Merative, Microdex, 2023). Tretinoin works to keep your pores clear, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, and promote new skin cell growth (Merative, Microdex, 2023).

Retinoid Basics

Retinoids is the collective name for ingredients within the Vitamin A family such as retinol and granactive retinoid (2023). Retinoids are known for their benefits in targeting signs of aging such as fine and dynamic wrinkles, and uneven skin tone (2023). Tretinoin is our most powerful retinoid yet!

Adding Tretinoin to Your Regimen

Tretinoin cream should be applied in the PM just like your other basic retinols. Apply after your cleansers and water-based serums but before your heavier treatments (additional creams or moisturizers)

Don't forget sunscreen! Scroll down to see why.

Tretinoin & Suncare: The must-have pair!

Remember earlier, we mentioned Tretinoin promotes new skin growth? It is so important to protect that brand new delicate skin from the sun's rays or else they will become damaged too and all of that skincare hard work will all be for nothing (Merative, Microdex, 2023).

Wearing an SPF every day while using Tretinoin will protect your skin and help Tretinoin continue to promote new skin growth and reduce aging and dark spots from the sun.
