Meet our New Revs 2024

Be inspired

Revd Aaron Dunne

Church St Helens

Prior to ordination I worked as a house music producer and DJ, travelling to various parts of the world with it. I’m passionate to see how we as a church can speak the language of those people who do not connect with church.

Revd Emma Stonier

Warrington Fit for Mission Team

I have had a bit of a mixed career up to ordination. I was a Primary School Teacher, then a Dental Nurse, leading to a job in Dental Education in the NHS. So I have a bit of variety in my background, but nothing is wasted, God can use everything and everyone. I love building relationships with people so I am really looking forward to getting to know all those in my parish and to work with those who come from all walks of life.

Revd Andrew Turton

Church Wigan

Although I had felt I was being called to something I wasn't sure it was to Clergy ministry, until the death of my wife, Kathy, six years ago. My bereavement prayers for help led to an affirmation call from our Lord to take up his service as an ordained minister. As an SSM I feel called to the pastoral role as a minister; officiating in the Sunday services; supporting the bereaved, the hungry and the homeless.

Revd Lilly Nelson

Formby St Peter

Prior to Ordination, I explored a calling to lay chaplaincy, being volunteer pastoral support in NHS Mersey care (Psychiatric and rehabilitation facilities) Music Festivals and with Mission in the Economy (MITE) and University chaplaincy. My faith in God brought me through a difficult time in my life which had multiple family bereavements in my early 20’s when I was a young carer. For me, the exciting work of parish ministry is serving God in the small ways that make a big difference.

Revd Jane Stephens

Aintree St Giles with St Peter

I worked as a Local Missional Leader to support carers of a loved one with dementia founding a small unregistered charity called Keystone. I remain passionate about serving people especially older people, carers and those who struggle in life. This, I believe, is what my call was to and I pray that I will be able to show God’s love to the lonely and isolated.

Revd Dave Emmett

Burscough Bridge St John

Leadership training has been a key part of my life from Congo to the present day working as a tutor with Emmanuel Theological College. Along with other teaching and formation responsibilities, I look after the college’s Pop-Up Theology online modules and get excited when people dip their toes into theological study and surprise themselves by finding it not just enjoyable, but beneficial for their discipleship.

Revd Christina Parsons

Great Crosby St Luke

I worked for fifty years as a registered Osteopath. I had always looked upon my practice as my church, where I endeavoured to help people body, mind and spirit. Working through the Covid pandemic, I can see how my skills were honed even more as I was dealing with people who were experiencing fear and grief. I am really looking forward to being able to care for people in another way in years to come. I feel that God has now given me the special responsibility of caring for mind and spirit.

Revd Lu Skerratt-Love

Liverpool St Luke in the City

My background has combined academic theological research, social justice, and work in the charity sector. I’ve worked with refugees and those seeking asylum, especially those who are LGBTQ+, and in sexual health advice and HIV+ testing. I'm passionate about working with those who have felt ostracised by church, as well as those who may struggle with addiction. I also want to help folk to know that fun and laughter can be a big part of our faith journeys too and to enable spaces where play can occur!
