Mountain School News November 2023 Monthly Newsletter

Dear Mountain Schools Community,

November is upon us, and it's always been one of my favorite months. It's a time when we come together to reflect on the many things we hold dear, spend cherished moments with family and friends, and extend a helping hand to those in need. The Mountain Schools community is indeed a very special place, with its tight-knit communities and wonderful families. I feel incredibly thankful this year for the privilege of working alongside such an extraordinary staff, serving an amazing school community, and having a healthy family. Moreover, I'm deeply grateful for our schools, filled with eager and exceptional students ready to learn. Serving as the Principal of The Mountain Schools is an honor I deeply value.

As we express our gratitude and celebrate the things we hold close to our hearts this November, it's also important to remember that some within our community may be facing challenges. If you or your family find yourselves in need of any kind, please don't hesitate to reach out to our dedicated staff. We are here to provide support and assistance during these times.

November 11th marks the observance of Veteran's Day, a day dedicated to commemorating and paying tribute to the individuals who have selflessly served our nation. It is a day when we collectively reflect upon the contributions of our esteemed veterans and the far-reaching impact of their unwavering commitment to service. I extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our family members and community members who have valiantly served in the armed forces.

In the spirit of our strong, close-knit community, I encourage all of us to continue supporting one another, celebrate the uniqueness of our small communities, and honor the incredible people who define our identity. Our strength lies in our unity.

I would like to remind you that our Fall break will be from November 20th to the 24th, and school will not be in session during this time. It's an excellent opportunity for our students and families to rest and recharge.

May your November be filled with gratitude, warmth, and the joy of being part of this exceptional Mountain Schools community.

Tom Schachet

PARENTS,

There are just a few items we need you to do:

  1. Be sure you review and sign the Student Code of Conduct. You can access it on ParentVue.
  2. Please remind your students about bus safety. Bus riders should stand at least three feet away from the road, and wait until the bus driver gives the signal to cross. Students should never be in the road while the bus is moving, or the sign has not been given.
  3. Take a look at our Student Health Page by clicking the button below for information about when to keep your kids home if they are not well.
  4. Send students dressed for the weather! Coats, hats, boots, and gloves! We go outdoors in all kinds of weather 'cause we are tough mountain people!
  5. Reminder that treats to share with classmates for celebrations should be store bought and sealed. Thank you!
