LOCATION SCOUT NOTES

Hotel La Compania - Av. A Calle 8, Panamá, Provincia de Panamá, Panama

French Wing – La Compañía Hotel

1. Lobby:

We can use it. Prior to the shoot, we have to check how full the hotel is to understand the movement during the day.

Best to use this space before Check-out (12:00PM) and Check-in (3:00PM) times.

2. Exilio Bar (next to the lobby):

It is open to the public from 4:30PM to 11:00PM. We can use it before opening hours.

3. 1739 Restaurant (next to Exilio Bar):

It is open to the public only for dinner starting at 6:00PM. This space can be reserved for private events. We have to check the hotel’s agenda for the shooting days.

Note: There is a section of the restaurant filled with portraits of famous visitors. We have to be careful with this because of the rights.

4. Wine Cellar (downstairs from Exilio Bar):

The space is always available and can be reserved for private events. We have to check the hotel’s agenda for the shooting days.

It is a small space. The client would like to shoot a “Christmas” scene here. It would require art intervention with Christmas decorations. They mentioned a Christmas tree as part of it.

5. “Memoirs” Gift Shop & Art Gallery (next to the lobby):

Client likes the “Memoirs” Gift Shop for a scene with friends buying clothes or accessories. We can move some racks if needed.

The Art Gallery will not work, as it is full of artwork and frames that would require releases.

Spanish Wing – La Compañía Hotel

The Garden & The Natural Chapel:

It is a very large area, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Before the shoot, we need to check how full the hotel is to anticipate guest activity.

American Wing – La Compañía Hotel

1. Hari’s Restaurant (Mexican & Japanese):

It only opens for dinner from 6:00PM. We can use it before that.

2. Luigi’s Restaurant (Italian):

It opens at 12:00PM. It has access from the street.

3rd Floor – American Wing – La Compañía Hotel

Access Note:

To access the 3rd floor, you must take the "Time Machine" elevator and use a hotel key. Access always requires the key.

1. Outdoor Pool – 3rd Floor:

2. This space is open to guests from 7:00AM to 7:00PM. We have to use it first time at the morning.

Open from 4:30PM to 2:00AM.

It can be reserved for private events.

Client would like to shoot a “party” scene here at sunset with a DJ.

If we are interfering too much with the space, we would need to reserve it entirely.

3. American Bazaar (2 Floors):

It opens at 12:00PM and has street access.

It has 2 floors. The second floor has an “Atelier” theme, decorated with sewing machines. The stairs caught the client’s attention.

Notes for La Compañía Hotel:

● We will not be shooting in any rooms.

● We need to check with the hotel if they have any private events during our shoot days.

● We need to coordinate with the hotel regarding lunch breaks and catering

Villa Ana - Restaurant & Gallery:

Less than 5 minute walking distance from La Compañia Hotel.

Important: It is prohibited to take pictures with cellphones. Only the photographers will be allowed.

It is divided into four areas:

● The Dining Room

● Speakeasy: El Ático

● Rum & Cigar Lounge

● The Gallery

Opening Hours (Monday to Saturday):

● Lunch: 11:30AM to 3:30PM

● Dinner: 6:00PM to 10:30PM

● Speakeasy & Rum & Cigar Lounge: 6:00PM to 2:00AM

It has a small elevator that reaches all 4 floors, but everyone usually uses the stairs.

1. The Dining Room (2nd Floor):

It includes four different dining rooms:

● Japanese Room (Pink walls)

● French Room (With a green bar)

● Chinese Room (Red walls)

● Indonesian Room

2. Speakeasy (3rd Floor):

It is an attic with low ceilings. It is used as a Jazz Club

3. Rum & Cigar Lounge (4th Floor):

The Cigar Lounge is a small rooftop with a view of the Catedral Church.

The client envisions a scene here with two women enjoying drinks and appetizers while chatting and enjoying the view.

4. The Gallery (1st Floor):

Currently used as a salon for private events. There is an ongoing exhibition that will be taken down. We would need to look for an artwork to be placed there.

The Gallery has windows that can be opened.

There is a grand piano in the room that can be moved to a corner if not needed for the scene.

Casco Streets

1. The Lock Plaza (Plazoleta Medio Baluarte):

Next to the Sofitel Hotel. A small plaza with a view of the Panama skyline.

The shooting situation would be the full experience of friends enjoying the view, placing a lock next to the ones already there.

Important: We would need to find a traditional craft or artsy activity for them to do—like watching someone make a Sombrero Pintao and teaching them the process.

2. The Hat Street (Calle de los Sombreros – Calle 1ra):

Next to the Sofitel Hotel. An alley with hats hanging above.

The scene would show friends walking down the alley, trying on hats, etc.

Is not a heavily trafficked street by cars.

3. The Central Street (Av. Central with Calle 3ra):

Near La Compañía Hotel, next to Hotel Central, facing the white tower of the Catedral Church.

We would need to close this street due to regular car traffic and cars parking on the side.

4. Around Plaza Catedral:

Near La Compañía Hotel and Villa Ana

- Shots of the talent on the stairs of the Catedral Church.

- Horse ride with a carroza around the plaza.* (This experience is not usual in Casco. We would have to bring all of it.)

- Old car ride around the plaza (reference: green or white Thunderbird convertible)*

5. Rooftop La Azotea:

Located at the entrance of Casco. An alternative rooftop option with a view of the modern city and surrounding greenery.

We would have to pay to use this space.
