British science week 2026

Showcasing the Sciences @ Manchester Museum...

British Science Week at Manchester Museum brought together school pupils, researchers, academics, students and volunteers from across the University for two days of hands-on science, discovery and conversation. The event gave young people the chance to explore a wide range of topics, meet researchers directly, and engage with science in an inspiring and accessible way across the Museum.

BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK 2026 - 2 DAYS - 1189 SCHOOL PUPILS - 26 SCHOOLS - 157 RESEARCHERS / ACADEMICS / STUDENTS - 43 RESEARCH & TEACHING STANDS - 79 SCIENCE TOPICS - SCIENCE BUSKERS - 102 VOLUNTEERS - 3 FLOORS OF THE MANCHESTER MUSUEM
Highlights from the event...
“My staff and students have come back to school absolutely buzzing about how incredible the event was, both in terms of the engagement and also how well planned it was. Thank you for inspiring both our adults and children. The real-life applications the researchers shared are so powerful for helping young people think about their own futures.” Head of Science at King David High School
