Sharing Our Learning

Our new 'Growing Into Excellence' jotters will be coming home shortly. These jotters replace our Snapshot jotters and will give parents and carers the chance to see what the children have been learning in class. Unlike the Snapshot jotters, the Growing Into Excellence jotter will follow the child through the school and will be a lovely keepsake of their time at Newfield Primary when they move on to high school at the end of Primary 7. Look out for these coming home week beginning 8th December.

Room 7 Trip

Room 7 had a great time on their trip to New Lanark. They really enjoyed the day and told us all about the Annie McLeod experience! You can find many more pictures of the trip on out Instagram page.

Sporting Festivals

Our senior pupils have been out on a number of sporting festivals over the past few weeks. Our school has been represented at Netball, Sports Hall Athletics, Boys' Football and Girls' Football events. Thank you to all of the children who represent our school and demonstrate their commitment to their sports clubs.

Sports Festivals

Halloween Discos

Our Parent Council organised their very popular annual Halloween discos in October. The children came along dressed in many impressive costumes and took part in games such as Halloween corners and dooking for apples! Money raised at events like these allow us to supplement our curricular resources and fund treats such as the recent Geeza Break panto performance of Pinocchio! Thank you to our Parent Council for all that they do for us!

The Halloween Discos were a huge success!

Kids Kitchen

Pupils in Rooms 6, 7 and 8 have thoroughly enjoyed 4 weeks of cookery sessions with Kids Kitchen. Chef Robert has taken them through knife skills and safety, preparing healthy meals and has involved parents and carers in the final session. Feedback from these sessions was very positive and we are keen to work with Chef Robert and Kids Kitchen in the future so that our pupils can benefit for many years to come. We are aware that not all of our P5 pupils were able to participate in the sessions and we are pleased to let you know that a request has been sent to add us to a waiting list should an opportunity arise in the near future.

School Panto - Pinocchio

The Parent Council very kindly paid for an in-house panto from Geeza Break Productions on Friday morning. The children loved watching the story of Pinocchio on the stage and we all enjoyed singing along to the songs and laughing at the jokes. Thank you again to our Parent Council for this treat!

Christmas Fayre - Monday 24th November

Our Parent Council Christmas Fayre took place this week. Lots of families came along and enjoyed the festivities on offer! Crafts and gifts from local sellers were available, as well as refreshments and super Christmas crafts made by the children of Newfield Primary! Thank you to everyone who came along. Particular thanks go to our Primary 7 elves, to our Parent Council for organising a fantastic event for us, and to Jamie McCleary who entertained us all over the course of the evening.

Our Christmas Fayre was a great success!
